Answer:

salinity, temperature

Explanation:

The density of almost everything in nature changes with a change in temperature because of the thermal expansion.

If the temperature of the sea water rises, then its volume will increase while its mass remains the same. So the density of sea water will decrease.

The density of sea water changes when the salinity changes. When the salinity changes the volume of the sea water remains the same but the total mass of the sea water changes.

The salinity will increase if more sediment are added to the ocean. In which in turn will increase the density. The salinity will decrease if polar ice caps melt and fresh water is added to the ocean, which in turn will decrease the density.

Rank the deformations of the following rods in terms of the magnitude of the average normal strain: (a) The length of a 1-m-long
kipiarov [429]

To solve this problem we will consider the concepts related to the normal deformation on a surface, generated when the change in length is taken per unit of established length, that is, the division between the longitudinal fraction gained or lost, over the initial length. In general mode this normal deformation can be defined as

\epsilon = \frac{\delta}{l} = \frac{l_0-l}{l}

Here,

\delta= Change in final length (l_0) and the initial length l

PART A)

\epsilon = \frac{\delta_1}{l}

\epsilon = \frac{l_0-l}{l_0}

\epsilon = \frac{1.02-1}{1}

\epsilon = 0.01961

PART B)

\epsilon = \frac{\delta_1}{l}

\epsilon = \frac{l_0-l}{l_0}

\epsilon = \frac{2-1.05}{2}

\epsilon = 0.475

PART C)

\epsilon = \frac{\delta_1}{l}

\epsilon = \frac{l_0-l}{l_0}

\epsilon = \frac{3.07-3}{3}

\epsilon = 0.0233

Therefore the rank of this deformation would be  B>C>A

What do scientist use the H-R Diagram for and how do they use it?
Vanyuwa [196]

Answer:

The H-R diagram can be used by scientists to roughly measure how far away a star cluster or galaxy is from Earth. This can be done by comparing the apparent magnitudes of the stars in the cluster to the absolute magnitudes of stars with known distances (or of model stars).

A long. 1.0 kg rope hangs from a support that breaks, causing the rope to fall, if the pull exceeds 43 N. A student team has bui
raketka [301]

Answer:

6.8 m/s2

Explanation:

Let g = 9.8 m/s2. The total weight of both the rope and the mouse-robot is

W = Mg + mg = 1*9.8 + 2*9.8 = 29.4 N

For the rope to fails, the robot must act a force on the rope with an additional magnitude of 43 - 29.4 = 13.6 N. This force is generated by the robot itself when it's pulling itself up at an acceleration of

a = F/m = 13.6 / 2 = 6.8 m/s2

So the minimum magnitude of the acceleration would be 6.8 m/s2 for the rope to fail
