<span>Describe the changes in the atomic model over time.
The existence of atoms began to be accepted around 1910 when many theories called upon the fact that atoms most exist (for example the work of Boltzmann trying to explain entropy, died 1906).
</span>At that time atoms were seen as tiny small ball like objects, all matter was composed of. the models have been advanced ever since. Key names that are worth looking up are J. J. Thomson, Rutherford, Bohr and de Broglie.

Explain how different observations and experiments led to changes in the atomic model.
Many of the models that the men above proposed were created upon what they saw from their experiments. An example is that Niels Bohr wanted to explain the spectral lines in hydrogen, introducing the energy shells are quantized.

de Broglie saw that we could calculate wavelengths for particles with a certain velocity, introducing the particle wave duality.

Rutherford suggested that electrons are orbiting the nucleus like planets.

Thomson that there was a "electronsness" surrounding a positive core.

They can all be explain more deeply, but this is just introductory.

A buffer solution is made that is 0.347 M in H2C2O4 and 0.347 M KHC2O4.
irga5000 [103]

Answer:

1. pH = 1.23.

2. H_2C_2O_4(aq) +OH^-(aq)\rightarrow HC_2O_4^-(aq)+H_2O(l)

Explanation:

Hello!

1. In this case, for the ionization of H2C2O4, we can write:

H_2C_2O_4\rightleftharpoons HC_2O_4^-+H^+

It means, that if it is forming a buffer solution with its conjugate base in the form of KHC2O4, we can compute the pH based on the Henderson-Hasselbach equation:

pH=pKa+log(\frac{[base]}{[acid]} )

Whereas the pKa is:

pKa=-log(Ka)=-log(5.90x10^{-2})=1.23

The concentration of the base is 0.347 M and the concentration of the acid is 0.347 M as well, as seen on the statement; thus, the pH is:

pH=1.23+log(\frac{0.347M}{0.347M} )\\\\pH=1.23+0\\\\pH=1.23

2. Now, since the addition of KOH directly consumes 0.070 moles of acid, we can compute the remaining moles as follows:

n_{acid}=0.347mol/L*1.00L=0.347mol\\\\n_{acid}^{remaining}=0.347mol-0.070mol=0.277mol

It means that the acid remains in excess yet more base is yielded due to the effect of the OH ions provided by the KOH; therefore, the undergone chemical reaction is:

H_2C_2O_4(aq) +OH^-(aq)\rightarrow HC_2O_4^-(aq)+H_2O(l)

Which is also shown in net ionic notation.

Best regards!

7) Explain how tsunamis are formed. How do tsunamis change the surface of the Earth?
antiseptic1488 [7]
A tsunami is a series of waves generated in an ocean or other body of water by a disturbance such as an earthquake, landslide, volcanic eruption, or meteorite impact. The picture at the left shows how an earthquake can generate a tsunami in the overlying water.

By washing away large surfaces of land and depositing it in a different area. Also does damage to structures and deposits salt into the soil.

Negative radical in the periodic table
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer:

A radical is a group of atoms of elements carrying a charge, e.g., chlorate [ClO3–]. Radicals or ions are formed by losing or gaining electrons. When an electron is gained the group of atoms acquire a negative charge and is called a negative radical or negative ion.
