-2=-x+x square-4
firstly regroup the equation
x square-2x+x-2=0
x square-x-2=0
multiply the first term by the last term.(I.e x square multiply by -2=-2x square)
product of factor = -2x 1
sum of factor= -2x+1(x)= -1
x square -2x+x-2=0
open the bracket:
x(x-2)+1(x-2)=0
x=1 or x=-2
Therefore; x=-1 or x=2

The square root of a -36 simplifies to "6i". So you have 3+/- [6i/6]. The 6's cancel each other out leaving 3+/-i. So the "a" is 3 and the "b" is 1

40x=10x^2+41

Identify the number of solutions and their types using the discriminant
nydimaria [60]

Number of solutions: no roots

Type of solution: Not Real

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to identify the number of solutions and their types using the discriminant.

We are given: 40x=10x^2+41\\

Rearranging:

40x-10x^2-41=0\\10x^2-40x+41=0

Discriminant can be found by: b^2-4ac

where b=-40, a=10 and c=41

Putting values:

b^2-4ac\\=(-40)^2-4(10)(41)\\=1600-1640\\=-40\\

So, Discriminant is -40

If the discriminant is less than zero i.e -40 then there are no real roots.

So, Number of solutions: no roots

Type of solution: Not Real

Keywords: discriminant

Three students need to produce a prime factorization of 48. Donna states that the first factors in the tree should be 6 and 8. L
Gennadij [26K]
If we start with 6 and 8, we can break 6 up into 2*3 and 8 into 2*2*2, thus getting a prime factorization of 2*2*2*2*3, or 2^4 *3.

If we begin with 4 and 12, 4 breaks into 2*2 and 12 into 2*2*3, so the prime factorization of 48 is still 2^4 *3.

The starting factors do not matter, since the answer comes out to be the same. There is exactly one correct answer- it doesn't matter how it's found.

Hope this helps! :)

A random sample of 10 subjects have weights with a standard deviation of 9 8753 kg What is the variance of their weights? Be sur
hammer [34]

Answer: The variance of their weights = 9,752,155,009 kg.

Step-by-step explanation:

 • The variance is the square of the standard deviation . it measures the spread between data values in a data set.

So if standard deviation of 10 subjects = 98753 kg

Then, variance = (9 8753 )^2\ kg=9,752,155,009\ kg

Hence, the variance of their weights = 9,752,155,009 kg.
