Answer:

relative vorticity is  -0.868 × 10^{-5} s-1

Explanation:

given data

air parcel at latitude = 18◦N

relative vorticity = 5.8 × 10^−5 s−1

to find out

relative vorticity

solution

we will apply here conservation of vorticity that is

ζ + f = constant

we know ζ initial = 2Ωsin(5π/18)

and  f initial = 5.8 × 10^{-5}

and f final =  2Ωsin(π/18)

and here angular frequency Ω = 0.7272 × 10^{-4} s-1

its mean

ζ initial -  ζ final = f final - f initial

so

ζ final =  ζ initial - f final + f initial

ζ final =  - 2Ωsin(5π/18) + ( 2Ωsin(π/18) +  5.8 × 10^{-5}  )

ζ final =  - 2(0.7272 × 10^{-4}) sin(5π/18) + ( 2(0.7272 × 10^{-4})sin(π/18) +  5.8 × 10^{-5}  )

ζ final = -0.868 × 10^{-5} s-1

so relative vorticity is  -0.868 × 10^{-5} s-1

Your roommate leaves a 120W fan running in your apartment.Over the course of an hour,how much thermal energy does the fan add to
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

4.32\cdot 10^5 J

Explanation:

Power is related to energy by the following relationship:

P=\frac{E}{t}

where

P is the power used

E is the energy used

t is the time elapsed

In this problem, we know that

- the power of the fan is P = 120 W

- the fan has been running for one hour, which corresponds to a time of

t = 1 h \cdot (60 min/h)(60 s/min)=3600 s

So we can re-arrange the previous equation to find E, the energy (in the form of thermal energy) released by the fan:

E=Pt=(120 W)(3600 s)=4.32\cdot 10^5 J

The pyrite will be bigger, because its density is much lower.

I <em>do</em> know that the gold's volume will be 2.5906 (With a bunch more numbers after it)

50 divided by 19.3 = 2.5906
