To balance the nuclear reaction following rules are following:

1. The sum of the subscript means the atomic numbers must be equal on the both side of the equation.

2. The sum of the superscript means the mass numbers must be equal on the both side of the equation.

  94  Pu 239  ------> x+  2He4

The mass number:

239 = A+4

A= 235

The atomic number:

94 = Z+2

Z= 92

Thus the balanced nuclear reaction is as follows:

94  Pu 239  ------> 92U235+  2He4

Explanation :

In this decay, Plutonium (Pu) is decayed into X and a helium nuclei. This shows an alpha decay.

In an alpha decay, atomic mass is reduced by four and atomic number is reduced by 2.

So, atomic mass of X is 239 - 4 = 235

and atomic number of X is 94 - 2 = 92

Hence, X is X_{92}^{235}.

The correct option is C.

The temperature of a gas is 30 degrees Celsius and its pressure is 760 torr. If the temperature originally
erastova [34]
T₁ = 40°C + 273.15 = 313.15 Kelvin T₂ = 30°C + 273.15 = 303.15 Kelvin

Solving Gay-Lussac's Law for P₁ we get:
P₁ = P₂ • T₁ ÷ T₂ P₁ = 760 torr • 313.15 K ÷ 303.15 K P₁ = 785.07 torr

Using the calculator, we click on the P1 button.
We then enter the 3 numbers 760 313.15 and 303.15 into the correct boxes then click "CALCULATE" and get our answer of 785.07 torr.

Convert a density of 7.2 g/ml into the unit kg/L
aivan3 [116]

Unit conversion is a multi-step process, in which division or multiplication by a numeral factor is involved.

Density = 7.2 g/mL    (given)

Since, 1 g = 0.001 kg and

1 mL = 0.001 L

Now, converting 7.2 g/mL to kg/L:

7.2 \frac{g}{mL}\times \frac{1 kg}{1000 g}\times \frac{1000 mL}{1 L}

= 7.2 kg/L.

Hence, density is 7.2 kg/L.

A bottle of a commercial reagent-grade hydrochloric acid, HCI, has the following
Doss [256]

The volume of concentrated HCl : 2.073 ml

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

Given

37% HCl by mass; density 1.19 g/mL

Required

The volume of concentrated HCl

Solution

Conversion to molarity :

37% x 1.19 g/ml =0.4403 g/ml

g/ml to mol/L :

=0.4403 g/ml x 1000 ml/L : 36.5 g/mol

=12.06 mol/L

or we can use formula :

\tt M=\dfrac{\%\times \rho\times 10}{MM}\\\\M=\dfrac{37\times 1.19\times 10}{36.5}\\\\M=12.06

Dilution formula :

M₁V₁=M₂V₂

12.06 M x V₁ = 0.1 M x 0.25 L

V₁ = 0.0021 L = 2.073 ml
