The correct statements are:

B. a small rock sitting on top of a big rock

As the rock is at a height with respect to ground it has potential Energy

and

C. a stretched rubber band

A stretched rubber band has elastic potential energy

The others are actually moving and hence would consist of Kinetic energy. Potential energy is stored in objects that do not move and are stationary.

C and as other have expained below, B as well

Potential energy basically means something has the possibilty to change. A <em>stretched</em> rubber band could be released at any moment, which would then create kinetic energy. If the band wasn't stretched it wouldn't have any potential energy.

While two forces act on it, a particle of mass m=3.2kg is it to move continuously with velocity (3m/s)i - (4m/s)j . one of the f
marta [7]
Mmm tricky.
Since the velocity is constant, I'm going to assume there is no acceleration in any direction. This means there is no net force in the I or J forection!

Since there are 2 forces, both must be equal and opposite in direction to perfectly cancel each other out.

So the opposite of F1 is (-2N)I + (6N)J!

The reaction of two positively charged objects that are near each other
lilavasa [31]

The objects will repel.

<u>Explanation</u>:

  • Charges are of two types - like and unlike. They are like charges if both are positive or if both are negative. They are unlike charges if one is positive and the other is negative.
  • When two objects of positive charge are near each other, they both have like charges.
  • When two like charges are near each other, they will repel each other.
  • When two dislike charges are near each other, they will attract each other.

What is the frequency of a tuning fork that vibrates 518 times in 3.50 s?
Serga [27]

Given:

The number of vibrations of the tuning fork is,

51\text{8 times}

in,

t=3.50\text{ s}

To find:

The frequency of the fork

Explanation:

The frequency is the number of vibrations in 1 second

The frequency for the given fork is,

\begin{gathered} \frac{The\text{ total vibrations}}{The\text{ time}} \\ =\frac{518}{3.50} \\ =148\text{ Hz} \end{gathered}

Hence, the frequency is 148 Hz.

Which statement best describes why electrons are typically not included when determining the mass of an atom?
Ede4ka [16]
<span>The protons and neutrons are much more massive than the electrons.
</span>
The electrons are simply too small to really change the mass, so they aren't counted.
