The correct statements are:

B. a small rock sitting on top of a big rock

As the rock is at a height with respect to ground it has potential Energy

and

C. a stretched rubber band

A stretched rubber band has elastic potential energy

The others are actually moving and hence would consist of Kinetic energy. Potential energy is stored in objects that do not move and are stationary.

C and as other have expained below, B as well

Potential energy basically means something has the possibilty to change. A <em>stretched</em> rubber band could be released at any moment, which would then create kinetic energy. If the band wasn't stretched it wouldn't have any potential energy.

Suppose a plane accelerates from rest for 30 s, achieving a takeoff speed of 80 m/s after traveling a distance of 1200 m down th
Margaret [11]

Answer:

300 m

Explanation:

The train accelerate from the rest so u = 0 m/sec

Final speed that is v = 80 m/sec

Time t = 30 sec

The distance traveled by first plane = 1200 m

We know the equation of motion S=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2 where s is distance a is acceleration and u is initial velocity

Using this equation for first plane 1200=0\times 30+\frac{1}{2}a30^2

a=2.67\frac{m}{sec^2}

As the acceleration is same for both the plane so a for second plane will be 2.67 \frac{m}{sec^2}

The another equation of motion is v^2=u^2+2as using this equation for second plane 40^2=0+2\times 2.67\times s

s = 300 m

creativ13 [48]

Answer:

a) b) d)

Explanation:

The question is incomplete. The Complete question might be

In an inertial frame of reference, a series of experiments is conducted. In each experiment, two or three forces are applied to an object. The magnitudes of these forces are given. No other forces are acting on the object. In which cases may the object possibly remain at rest? The forces applied are as follows: Check all that apply.

a)2 N; 2 N

b) 200 N; 200 N

c) 200 N; 201 N

d) 2 N; 2 N; 4 N

e) 2 N; 2 N; 2 N

f) 2 N; 2 N; 3 N

g) 2 N; 2 N; 5 N

h ) 200 N; 200 N; 5 N

For th object to remain at rest, sum of all forces must be equal to zero. Use minus sign to show opposing forces

a) 2+(-2)=0 here minus sign is to show the opposing firection of force

b) 200+(-200)=0

c) 200+(-201)\neq0

d) 2+2+(-4)=0

e) 2+2+(-2)\neq0

f) 2+2+(-3) \neq0; 2+(-2)+3\neq0

g) 2+2+(-5)\neq0; 2+(-2)+5\neq0

h)200 + 200 +(-5)\neq0; 200+(-200)+5\neq0

QUESTION 23
Nutka1998 [239]

Answer:

E = 3600 J

Explanation:

Given that,

Voltage, V = 115 V

Power of electric bulb, P = 60 W

We need to find the electric energy used in 1 minute. The electric energy use is given by :

E=P\times t\\\\E=60\ W\times 60\ s\\\\E = 3600\ J

Hence, the electrical energy is 3600 J.
