How long it takes to reach maximum height in seconds

Physics

The dotted path is the path of the ball. it reaches it's maximum height at the top where vertical, y-velocity = 0
The initial y-velocity = 19sin(70°)
initial y-velocity = 17.85 m/s

Use one of the kinematic equations with velocity and time. No displacement because we don't want to worry about figuring that out.

v = u - gt
0 = 17.85 - 9.8t
-17.85 = -9.8t
17.85/9.8 = t
1.82 sec = t

A meter stick is found to balance at the 49.7-cm mark when placed on a fulcrum. When a 65.5-gram mass is attached at the 21.0-cm
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

113.53 g

Explanation:

Please see attached photo for explanation.

In the attached photo, M is the mass of the meter stick.

The value of M can be obtained as shown below:

Clockwise moment = M × 10.5

Anticlockwise moment = 65.5 × 18.2

Anticlockwise moment = Clockwise moment

65.5 × 18.2 = M × 10.5

1192.1 = M × 10.5

Divide both side by 10.5

M = 1192.1 / 10.5

M = 113.53 g

Thus, the mass of the meter stick is 113.53 g

Which is a correct statement of the second law of thermodynamics? Entropy of the universe is constantly increasing. Nature allow
Ierofanga [76]

Answer:

Entropy of the universe is constantly increasing.

Explanation:

Entropy is the loss of available energy when it is in transit. The entropy of a system increases consuming the energy, this energy is now unavailable for doing the work or making the corresponding changes in the property of a system.

Entropy is the measure of randomness of a system. It is a toll that the nature takes for energy in transit.

The second law of thermodynamics concludes that all the energy cannot be transformed from one form to another and the flow of energy has a specific direction.

If a reversible process occurs, there is no net change in entropy. In an irreversible process, entropy always increases, so the change in entropy is positive. The total entropy of the universe is continuously increasing.

Consider two parallel plate capacitors. The plates on Capacitor B have half the area as the plates on Capacitor A, and the plate
vichka [17]

Answer:

CB = 4.45 x 10⁻⁹ F = 4.45 nF

Explanation:

The capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor is given by the following formula:

C = ε₀A/d

where,

C = Capacitance

ε₀ = Permeability of free space

A = Area of plates

d = Distance between plates

FOR CAPACITOR A:

C = CA = 17.8 nF = 17.8 x 10⁻⁹ F

A = A₁

d = d₁

Therefore,

CA = ε₀A₁/d₁ = 17.8 x 10⁻⁹ F ----------------- equation 1

FOR CAPACITOR B:

C = CB = ?

A = A₁/2

d = 2 d₁

Therefore,

CB = ε₀(A₁/2)/2d₁

CB = (1/4)(ε₀A₁/d₁)

using equation 1:

CB = (1/4)(17.8 X 10⁻⁹ F)

CB = 4.45 x 10⁻⁹ F = 4.45 nF
