Ted has a fixed amount of money in his budget for holiday gifts. He decides that his wife and his mother will receive gifts of e

qual value. The gift for his sister will cost half of what his mother’s gift cost, and his brother’s gift will be equal to his sister’s. He will also spend $20 on a video game for his nephew. Let T represent Ted’s total budget and x represent the value of his sister’s gift. Which of the following equations could Ted use? A. T = 6x + 20 B. T = x + x + 2x + 20 C. T=x2+4x+20 D. T = 3x + 20

Answer would be A- 6x+20   his siters gift is x, (x)6=6 x
moms gift and wifes gift are each a (2x) than his two (2x) and 2(x's) = 6x.
2x+2x+x+x=6x, so now 6x+20 equals total ammount spent (total budget)

C
Solve for m:
3/4m - 3 = 9
May I please have help!
MAVERICK [17]

Answer:

m=16

Step-by-step explanation:

Rearrange the equation by subtracting what is to the right of the equal sign from both sides of the equation : 3/4*m-3-(9)=0

Step 1: Simplify 3/4

Equation at the end of step 1: ((3/4 x m) - 3) - 9 = 0

Step2: Subtracting a whole from a fraction

Rewrite the whole as a fraction using 4 as the denominator :

        3     3 • 4

   3 =  —  =  —————

        1       4

Equivalent fraction : The fraction thus generated looks different but has the same value as the whole

Common denominator : The equivalent fraction and the other fraction involved in the calculation share the same denominator

Adding fractions that have a common denominator :

Adding up the two equivalent fractions

Add the two equivalent fractions which now have a common denominator

Combine the numerators together, put the sum or difference over the common denominator then reduce to lowest terms if possible:

3m - (3 • 4)                               3m - 12

—————4———————  =  ———4————

When a fraction equals zero ...

Where a fraction equals zero, its numerator, the part which is above the fraction line, must equal zero.

Now,to get rid of the denominator, Tiger multiplys both sides of the equation by the denominator.

Here's how:

3•(m-16)

———————— • 4 = 0 • 4

    4

Now, on the left hand side, the 4 cancels out the denominator, while, on the right hand side, zero times anything is still zero.

The equation now takes the shape :

  3  •  (m-16)  = 0

6.2      Solve :    3   =  0

This equation has no solution.

A a non-zero constant never equals zero.

Solve  :    m-16 = 0

Add 16 to both sides of the equation :

                     m = 16

Find y for x=0,1,2, and 3.

y=4-x
LenKa [72]
4 - (0) = y
4 - 0 = 4      y = 4

4 - (1) = y
4 - 1 = 3     y = 3

4 - (2) = y
4 - 2 = 2     y = 2

4 - (3) = y
4 - 3 = 1     y = 1

What is the equation for the line of reflection that maps the trapezoid onto itself? Enter your answer in the box______
nadezda [96]
Y = -1

It is an isosceles trapezoid, which is just as well, otherwise it could not reflect onto itself. The line of reflection is the same as the mirror line which is the same as the axis of symmetry.

It runs horizontally exactly through the middle of the shape.

All horizontal lines have the equation y = a value

In this case the line is y=−1
