Let x = # of original members
Cost per person (originally) = 832/x
Cost per person after 6 more people = 832/(x+6)
Solve 832/x=832/(x+6) +6  (because the cost was reduced by 6
Solve for x.
x = 26 or -32 (but x is number of members, so it can't be negative)
# of original members is 26.
Original cost is 832/26 = $32 per person.

Answer:

C

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

\frac{2}{3} m + 5 = 17 ( subtract 5 from both sides )

\frac{2}{3} m = 12 ( multiply both sides by 3 to clear the fraction )

2m = 36 ( divide both sides by 2 )

m = 18 → C

Jane’s cell phone plan is $40 each month plus $0.15 per minute for each minute over 200 minutes of call time. Janes cell phone b
san4es73 [151]

Answer:

The equation is 40+0.15m = 58.00 whose solution is m =120\:minutes.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us call m the number of minutes the phone is used over 200 minutes, then we have

\boxed{40+0.15m = 58.00} <em>(this says monthly bill of $40 plus the cost of phone usage over 200 minutes must equal $58 )</em>

This equation can be used to solve for  m u as follows:

0.15m = 58-40

m = \dfrac{18}{0.15}

\boxed{m = 120\:minutes}

What is the equation of the line that is parallel to the line y - 1 = 4(x + 3) and passes through the point (4, 32)?
Monica [59]

Answer:

y = 4x + 16

Step-by-step explanation:

y - 1 = 4(x + 3)

Has a slope of 4

y = 4x + c

32 = 4(4) + c

32 - 16 = c

c = 16

y = 4x + 16
