The law of conservation of mass states the number of atoms of each element on product side must equal the number of atoms of each element on reactant side.

Ba has 1 atom on reactant side and 1 atom on product side

O has 2 atoms on reactant side and 2 atoms on product side

H has 2 atoms on reactant side and 2 atoms on product side

SO_4 has 1 molecule on product side and 1 molecule on reactant side

Therefore the balanced equation is

BaO_2 + H_2SO_4 ==> H_2O_2 + BaSO_4

A 2.40 kg can of coffee moving at 1.50 m/s in the +x-direction on a kitchen counter collides head-on with a 1.20 kg box of macar
liraira [26]

Answer:

The macaroni travels with a velocity of 1.35 m/s in the +x-direction.

Explanation:

By the conservation of momentum principle and assuming there is no external force (e.g. friction) acting on the system, the total initial momentum is equal to the total final momentum.

We take all velocities in the +x-direction as positive.

Initial momentum of coffee can = (2.40 kg)(1.50 m/s) = 3.60 kg m/s

Initial momentum of macaroni = (1.20 kg)(0.00 m/s) = 0.00 kg m/s

Total initial momentum = (3.60 + 0.00) kg m/s = 3.60 kg m/s

Final momentum of coffee can = (2.40 kg)(0.825 m/s) = 1.98 kg m/s

Final momentum of macaroni = (1.20 kg)(v m/s) = 1.20v kg m/s

Total final momentum = (1.98 + 1.20v) kg m/s

Equating both initial and final total momenta,

3.60 kg m/s = (1.98 + 1.20v) kg m/s

1.20v kg m/s = 1.62 kg m/s

v = (1.62 kg m/s) ÷ (1.20 kg) = 1.35 m/s

Since this is positive, the macaroni travels with a velocity of 1.35 m/s in the +x-direction.

There are two types of waves, mechanical and electromagnetic. Microwaves, infrared, and radio was are examples of electromagneti
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

The answer is D.

Explanation:

One explanation I can give you is that generally waves travel faster through denser medium because the particles are tightly packed together and so they can transfer energy faster. But to verify the answer, I used Process of Elimination because the other 3 answers are not true. Choice A is entirely true, wave speed depends on the medium it is travelling through, so there is no way choice A is correct. Choice B is wrong because for example if we take light(an EM wave), it travels at a constant speed of 3.0x10^8 m/s in a vacuum and in open space. So, that proves that air or vacuum do not affect the speed of the wave in another medium. Choice C is related to Choice B, we just proved the speed of light is constant everywhere whereas choice C says that in a vacuum the speed is halved. Good luck in your Physics class and I hope for your best!

Solar collectors are parts of ______. a. passive solar heating systems b. active solar heating systems c. internal combustion en
Bad White [126]

Answer:

b. active solar heating systems

Explanation:

A solar collector is a device that collects and/or concentrates solar radiation from the Sun. These devices are primarily used for active solar heating and allow for the heating of water for personal use.
