Mother Teresa (St. Teresa of Calcutta, 1910-1997) was a well known Roman Catholic leader, nun and missionary; she was born in Macedonia, and moved to India to work with the poor for the rest of her life in poor conditions where she gave all that she had to the poorest. She founded the Order of the Missionaries of Charity (1950) in which she gathered nuns and active people to bring aid to the poor and sick population of India. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, and was canonized on 2016.
