1. Ca → Element

2. Proton → positive

3. H2O → compound

4. Fission → nuclear decay

5. Fusion → Nuclear synthesis

6. η → Neutron

7. e → electron

8. Atomic number → no of protons in nucleus.

Explanation

1. Ca (Calcium):

Calcium is an element with the atomic number of 20. It is an alkaline earth metal. The 99% of calcium is found in our bodies, in bones, teeth.

2. Proton:

Proton is a subatomic particle and it holds the positive charge. Proton is present in the nucleus of the atom.

3. H2O (water):

Water is a chemical compound and it's chemical formula is H2O. It's called compound as it contains 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen atoms bonded together through the covalent bond.

4. Fission:

Fission is a process in which large massive unstable nucleus splits into the smaller, less heavier and stable nuclei. The energy is re;eased in the form of radiations during this process. It's called as the radioactive decay.

5. Fusion:

Fusion is opposite of the fission reaction. As in this case the two nuclei combines to form a single large nucleus. That's why it is a nuclear synthesis process.

6. η neutron:

Neutron is a subatomic particle and it is a neutral particle which is located inside the nucleus. n is a symbol used for the neutron.

7. e Electron:

The symbol for electron is e. It's a subatomic particle with negative charge. It is found in the orbits around the nucleus.

8.  Atomic Number:

Atomic number is defined as the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom. IT is represented by Z.

A resistor has four colored stripes in the following order: orange, orange, brown and silver. What is the resistance of the resi
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

Resistance =330 Ω

Tolerance = 33 Ω

Explanation:

see attached resistor color code table

The first stripe is orange, which means the leftmost digit is a 3.

The second stripe is orange , which means the next digit is a 3.

The third stripe is brown. Since brown is 1, it means add one zero to the right of the first two digits.

The resistance is:

orange-orange-brown=  330 Ω

The tolerance is:

The fourth color band indicates the resistor's tolerance. Tolerance is the percentage of error in the resistor's resistance.

silver is 10%

A 330 Ω resistor has a silver tolerance band.

Tolerance = value of resistor x value of tolerance band

= 330 Ω x 10% = 33 Ω

330 Ω stated resistance +/- 33 Ω tolerance means that the resistor could range in actual value from as much as 363 Ω to as little as 297 Ω.

You need to design a 60.0-Hz ac generator that has a maximum emf of 5200 V. The generator is to contain a 130-turn coil that has
dimaraw [331]

Answer:

B =  0.129 T

Explanation:

Given,

frequency, f = 60 Hz

maximum  emf = 5200 V

Number of turns, N = 130

Area per turn = 0.82 m²

We know,

ω = 2 π f

ω = 2 π x 60 = 376.99 rad/s

now, Magnetic field calculation

B =\dfrac{\epsilon_{max}}{NA\omega}

B =\dfrac{5200}{130\times 0.82\times 376.99}

B =  0.129 T

Hence, the magnetic field is equal to B = 0.129 T

A 50.0-kg projectile is fired at an angle of 30 degrees above thehorizontal with an initial speed of 1.20 x 102 m/s fromthe top
Advocard [28]

Answer:

a)  Em₀ = 42.96 104 J , b)   W_{fr} = -2.49 105 J , c)  vf = 3.75 m / s

Explanation:

The mechanical energy of a body is the sum of its kinetic energy plus the potential energies it has

        Em = K + U

a) Let's look for the initial mechanical energy

      Em₀ = K + U

      Em₀ = ½ m v2 + mg and

      Em₀ = ½ 50.0 (1.20 102) 2 + 50 9.8 142

      Em₀ = 36 104 + 6.96 104

      Em₀ = 42.96 104 J

b) The work of the friction force is equal to the change in the mechanical energy of the body

    W_{fr} = Em₂ -Em₀

     Em₂ = K + U

     Em₂ = ½ m v₂² + m g y₂

     Em₂ = ½ 50 85 2 + 50 9.8 427

     Em₂ = 180.625 + 2.09 105

     Em₂ = 1,806 105 J

     W_{fr} = Em₂ -Em₀

     W_{fr} = 1,806 105 - 4,296 105

     W_{fr} = -2.49 105 J

The negative sign indicates that the work that force and displacement have opposite directions

c) In this case the work of the friction going up is already calculated in part b and the work of the friction going down would be 1.5 that job

We have that the work of friction is equal to the change of mechanical energy

       W_{fr} = ΔEm

       W_{fr} = Emf - Emo

       -1.5 2.49 10⁵ = ½ m vf² - 42.96 10⁴

       ½ m vf² = -1.5 2.49 10⁵ + 4.296 10⁵

       ½ 50.0 vf² = 0.561

       vf = √ 0.561 25

      vf = 3.75 m / s

How does the type of medium affect a sound wave?
Llana [10]

The type of medium affects a sound wave as sound travels with the help of the vibration in particles. As different mediums have different amount and size of particles, for example, the speed of sound is faster through solid than liquid as solids have closely packed particles whereas liquids are loosely packed. Therefore the vibration is quicker in solids than liquids.

Hope it helps you! :)
