Answer:

The surface area of the composite figure is 410\ m^{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The surface area of the composite figure is equal to the surface area of the rectangular prism of the bottom plus the lateral area o the rectangular prism of the top

so

Step 1

Find the surface area of the rectangular prism of the bottom

The surface area is equal to

SA=2B+Ph

Find the area of the base B

B=10*10=100\ m^{2}

P=4*10=40\ m

h=3\ m

substitute

SA=2(100)+40(3)=320\ m^{2}

Step 2

Find the lateral area of the rectangular prism of the top

The lateral area is equal to

LA=Ph

P=2*(4+5)=18\ m

h=5\ m

substitute

LA=18(5)=90\ m^{2}

Step 3

Find the surface area of the composite figure

320\ m^{2}+90\ m^{2}=410\ m^{2}

What’s the equation?
Sphinxa [80]
If Whitney works 51 hours per week, then that would mean that we’d use the expression 51w because w, representing the weeks, would be multiplied by 51 to find the amount of hours worked in that week. However, since 15 of the hours were spent outside instead of in the office, we’d have to subtract that from the 51w. Therefore, the equation would be:

h= 51w - 15

Makovka662 [10]

You probably forgot to mention the options. After a little research, I was able to get the complete question with the mentioned options you should have mentioned. The potential complete question is:

<em>Ellen plans to leave an 18 percent tip with her $23.75 lunch bill. Which of these expressions could she use to determine her total bill? </em>

<em>Check all that apply. </em>

<em>(1.18)(23.75) 23.75 – [(0.18)(23.75)] 23.75 + [(0.18)(23.75)] (0.18)(23.75)</em>

<em />

Answer:

The expression 23.75\:+\:\left[\left(0.18\right)\left(23.75\right)\right] will determine her total bill.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total lunch bill = $23.75

As he pans to 18% tip of the total bill, so the expression will be:

=23.75\:+\:\left(\:18\%\:\:of\:\:23.75\:\right)

=23.75\:+\:\left(\:\frac{18}{100}\:\times \:23.75\:\right)

=23.75\:+\:\left(\:0.18\times \:23.75\:\right)

or

=23.75\:+\:\left[\left(0.18\right)\left(23.75\right)\right]

Therefore, the expression 23.75\:+\:\left[\left(0.18\right)\left(23.75\right)\right] will determine her total bill.
