Answer:

2.726472 s more or 1.5874 times more time is taken than 10-lb roast.

Explanation:

Given:

- The cooking time t is related the mass of food m by:

                                    t = m^(2/3)

- Mass of roast 1 m_1 = 20 lb

- Mass of roast 2 m_2 = 10 lb

Find:

how much longer does a 20-lb roast take than a 10-lb roast?

Solution:

- Compute the times for individual roasts using the given relation:

                                  t_1 = (20)^(2/3) = 7.36806 s

                                  t_2 = (10)^(2/3) = 4.641588 s

- Now take a ration of t_1 to t_2, to see how many times more time is taken by massive roast:

                                  t_1 / t_2 = (20 / 10)^(2/3)

- Compute:                t_1 / t_2 = 2^(2/3) = 1.5874 s

- Hence, a 20-lb roast takes 1.5874 times more seconds than 10- lb roast.

                                  t_2 - t_1 = 2.726472 s more

Which type of electromagnetic waves make up the colors of a rainbow seen after a storm?
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

we conclude that visible light is that electromagnetic wave that makes up the colors of a rainbow seen after a storm.

Hence, option A is correct.

Explanation:

Generally, after the storm, we can witness the presence of a rainbow with our naked eyes. Rainbow, visible to our eyes, consists of all the seven constituent colors of white light. Those seven colors range from violet to red, all having different wavelengths. When water particles present in our atmosphere get exposed to light, all the constituent colors of a white light tend to deviate at a variety of angles. It happens due to their refraction through water particles; thus, a spectrum is obtained.

As we cannot see X-rays, UV rays, and infrared waves through our naked eye, visible light is the kind of electromagnetic wave that makes anyone able to see the objects.

Please note that all the constitute colors of a beautiful rainbow associate with the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum.

Therefore, we conclude that visible light is that electromagnetic wave that makes up the colors of a rainbow seen after a storm.

Hence, option A is correct.

Learning Goal: To understand the distinction between mass and weight and to be able to calculate the weight of an object from it
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

The true statements are: A, D

Explanation:

This interesting problem of the conceptual relationship between mass and weight, the equation for weight is

        W = m g

From Newton's second law

       W = ma

Where g the acceleration of gravity, this acceleration can vary at several points, for example, in a vertical circumference the acceleration of gravity is always down and the centripetal acceleration continuously changes direction therefore the body weight constantly changes from zero to the maximum value.

The mass instead is always the same and is the resistance (inertia) to the movement of the bodies

Of the aforementioned the peo has the unit mass multiplied by the acceleration

        Weight [N] = mass [kg] acceleration [m / s2]

        Weight [lb] = mass [slug] acceleration [ft / s2]

Examine the statements

A) 12.0 lb. True pounds are the mass for acceleration. English measurement system

B) 0.34g False. Grams are units of mass,

C) 120 kg. False. The kilograms is a multiple of the grams, which are units of mass

D) 1600 kN True the newton is the unit of weight, the Newton kilo is a multiple

E) 0.34 m False meters are units of length

F) 411 cm False centimeters is a submultiple of the meter that is a unit of length

The true statements are: A, D

Consider the situation||: A child pulls a sled by a rope across the lawn at a constant speed. Of the forces listed, identify whi
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

Gravitational

Tension

Normal

Friction.

Explanation:

The forces acting on the sled are:

Tension: the tension from the rope, this is the force that "moves" the sled.

Friction: kinetic friction between the sled and the ground as the sled moves.

There are another two forces that also act on the sled, but that "has no effect"

Gravitational force: This force pulls the sled down, against the floor.

Normal force: This force "opposes" to the gravitational one, so they cancel each other.

These two forces cancel each other, so they have no direct impact on the movement of the sled. BUT, the friction force depends on the weight of the moving object, and the weight of the moving object depends on the gravitational force, so we need gravitational force in order to have friction force.

Then we can conclude that the forces acting on the sled are:

Gravitational

Tension

Normal

Friction.

A car driving down a hill contains many types of energy. DESCRIBE at least 3 types of energy the car has.
VikaD [51]

Once the car is on top of the hill it contains potential energy witch means it is storing enough energy to slide the hill until acted on. Once the car moves and slides down the hill it creates kinetic energy witch means it's in motion. The car then turns the kinetic energy into mechanical energy witch means it's working. I'm not sure if that helped but good luck!
