If the recipe needs 200g of chocolate bars, and that recipe feeds 8 people, you need to figure out how many times you'd have to make a recipe to feed 50 people.

50 is not a factor of 8, so we have to break the recipe down. if 200g of chocolate feeds 8 people, then it's safe to assume that 100g feeds 4 people, and 50g feeds 2 people.

The closest you get to 50 without exceeding it by a factor of 8 is 6 x 8= 48. You'd be missing the chocolate for two people, all you have to do is add 50 grams of a chocolate bar.

You have to multiply each ingredient by 6 therefore everything is exactly the same, just amplified. 200 x 6 =1200, which means you'd need 1200g of chocolate bars + 50g to make a mousse for 50 people.

Each chocolate bar has 150g, so now what you do is you get the 1250g and divide it by 150g. This will tell you the amount of chocolate bars you need to complete the recipe for 50 people. The answer is 8.33333, which means Tim will have to buy 9 chocolate bars.

In september, seattle's daily high temperature has a mean of 70 °f and a standard deviation of 7 °f. What are the mean, standard
Anna [14]
Mean= is the summation of the maximum temperatures ÷ the numbers of times the temperatures where recorded

standard deviation= is a number used to tell how measurements for a group are spread out from the average (mean), or expected value.

A low standard deviation means that most of the numbers are very close to the average.

A high standard deviation means that the numbers are spread out.

Variance= is a way to measure how far a set of numbers is spread out.

A variance of zero indicates that all of the data values are identical. All non-zero variances are positive.

A small variance indicates that the data points tend to be very close to the mean, and to each other.

A high variance indicates that the data points are very spread out from the mean, and from one another.

Linear, Quadratic, or Exponential?

- Linear
- Quadratic
- Exponential
Yuri [45]

Answer: This is a linear

Step-by-step explanation:

If you graph these out as coordinates on desmos as (0,2) (1,5) (2,10) (3,17) the points form a straight line which is linear as shown.

I need explanations for Mathematical Proofs.
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

Proofs employ logic expressed in mathematical symbols, along with natural language which usually admits some ambiguity. In most mathematical literature, proofs are written in terms of rigorous informal logic.

According to Bleiler-Baxter & Pair [22], for a mathematician, a proof serves to convince or justify that a certain statement is true. But it also helps to increase the understanding of the result and the related concepts. That is why a proof also has the role of explanation.

There are many different ways to go about proving something, we'll discuss 3 methods: direct proof, proof by contradiction, proof by induction. We'll talk about what each of these proofs are, when and how they're used. Before diving in, we'll need to explain some terminology.

Although I will focus on proofs in mathematical education per the topic of the question, first and foremost proofs are so hard because they involve taking a hypothesis and attempting to prove or disprove it by finding a counterexample. There are many such hypotheses that have (had) serious monetary rewards available.

In logic and mathematics, a formal proof or derivation is a finite sequence of sentences (called well-formed formulas in the case of a formal language), each of which is an axiom, an assumption, or follows from the preceding sentences in the sequence by a rule of inference.

All mathematicians in the study considered proofs valuable for students because they offer students new methods, important concepts and exercise in logical reasoning needed in problem solving. The study shows that some mathematicians consider proving and problem solving almost as the same kind of activities.

The tile along the edge of a triangular community pool needs to be replaced.
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer:

Third option: 12x^2+8x+25

Step-by-step explanation:

s1=8x^2

s2=4x^2+15

s3=8x+10

Total perimeter of the pool edge: P

P=s1+s2+s3

Replacing s1, s2 and s3 in the formula above:

P=(8x^2)+(4x^2+15)+(8x+10)

P=8x^2+4x^2+15+8x+10

Adding like terms:

P=12x^2+8x+25
