Answer:

(A) 10.95 volts (B) 0.0273 A

Explanation:

We have given resistance R =400 ohm

The power rating of the resistor is P =0.300 W

(A) We know that power across the resistor is given by P=\frac{V^2}{R} here V is voltage and R is resistance

So 0.3=\frac{V^2}{400}

V^2=120

V=10.95\ volts

(B) The power across a resistor is also given by P=i^2R

0.3=i^2\times 400

i^2=7.5\times 106{-4}

i=0.0273A

a coin press creates a pressure of 3.20*10^8 Pa on a nickel of radius 0.0106 m. how much force does the press exert on the coin?
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

1.13 x 10⁵N

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Pressure of the coin press = 3.2 x 10⁸ Pa

radius of the nickel coin = 0.0106m

Unknown:

Force of the press on coil = ?

Solution:

Our knowledge of pressure will help us solve this problem.

Pressure is defined as the force applied per unit area on a body.

              Pressure  = \frac{force}{area}

  Force = Pressure  x  Area

 Since the pressure is known;

Area of the coin = Area of a circle = π r²

 where r is the radius of the coin;

Area of the coin = π x 0.0106²  = 3.53 x 10⁻⁴m²

  Force = 3.2 x 10⁸ x  3.53 x 10⁻⁴  = 1.13 x 10⁵N

What are electrons and how are they involved in creating and electric current?
Artist 52 [7]
Electrons are a stable sub atomic particle that has a negative charge and is found in all atoms and is the main carrier of electricity through solids.

In a metal, some of the electrons can escape from the atoms and are free to move around inside the metal. These electrons are referred to as 'conduction electrons'.

<span>A current is a flow of charge. In metal a current is the flow of the conduction electrons through the metal. This can occur when connected to battery for example: The battery pumps the conduction electrons around the circuit. </span>
