Propose a reason why very few 2+ ions are formed in a mass spectrometer

Chemistry

A mass spectrometer is a machine that measures the mass of different substances by ionizing them and determining their paths in magnetic and electric fields. Few 2+ ions are created in a mass spectrometer because it is difficult to remove an electron from an ion that is already positive. It requires a lot more energy to accomplish this feat so it rarely happens in the process.

Explain how the random motion of molecules produces a concentration gradient and a net movement of solute
mixer [17]

Random motion of molecules produces a concentration gradient and a net movement of solute as  random movement of molecules causes diffusion that causes movement of molecules from high concentration to low concentration . No ATP is required in this process. This causes movement of solute molecules and causes concentration gradient.
