What is the number of moles of solute in 250 mL of a 0.4 M solution ?

Chemistry

.4 M means that in 1 Liter of solution there are .4 moles.

Molarity x Liters = Moles

We have molarity, so convert mL to liters

250 mL x 1000mL/1 Liter = .25 L

Now, set up the equation

.4 M x .25 L = .1 moles of solute

Why is graphite used as a lubricant
Korvikt [17]

There are weaker covalent bonds between these layers, hence they can easily slide over each other. Due to this, it is a lubricant, since the layers slide over each other so easily. ... Graphite is a mineral made of loosely bonded sheets of carbon atoms, giving it a slippery texture that makes it a very effective lubricant.

The density of table salt is 2.16 g/cm3. Detail the conversion into units of pounds per liter, and provide the density in lb/L.
Leona [35]

Answer:

density = 4.763pounds per liter

Explanation:

1g/cm³ = 2.205pounds per liter

2.16g/cm³ = (unknown)pounds per liter

(unknown)pounds per liter = 2.205 x 2.16 = 4.763

density = 4.763pounds per liter
