Answer:

                            Fe₂O₃  +  3 CO    →    2 Fe  +  3 CO₂

Explanation:
According to law of conservation of matter both the left hand side and right hand side shoul be having same number of elements.
The Imbalance chemical equation was as follow,

                            Fe₂O₃  +  CO    →    Fe  +  CO₂

                            L.H.S                          R.H.S
Fe                           2                                 1
O                            4                                  2
C                             1                                 1

So, Iron being not equal were made equal by multiplying Fe by 2. Hence,

                            Fe₂O₃  +  CO    →    2 Fe  +  CO₂

                            L.H.S                          R.H.S
Fe                           2                                 2
O                            4                                 2
C                             1                                 1

Now, Oxygen is balanced by multiplying CO₂ by 2, Hence,

                            Fe₂O₃  +  CO    →    2 Fe  +  2 CO₂

                            L.H.S                          R.H.S
Fe                           2                                 2
O                            4                                 4
C                             1                                 2

Now, balancing carbon by multiplying CO by 2, hence,

                            Fe₂O₃  +  2 CO    →    2 Fe  +  2 CO₂

                            L.H.S                          R.H.S
Fe                           2                                 2
O                            5                                 4
C                             2                                 2

Again Oxygen got imbalanced, so again multiply CO₂ by 3, hence,

                            Fe₂O₃  +  2 CO    →    2 Fe  +  3 CO₂

                            L.H.S                          R.H.S
Fe                           2                                 2
O                            5                                 6
C                             2                                 3

Again Carbon got disturbed, Multiply CO by 3, hence,

                            Fe₂O₃  +  3 CO    →    2 Fe  +  3 CO₂

                            L.H.S                          R.H.S
Fe                           2                                 2
O                            6                                 6
C                             3                                 3

Thanks God! Now it is balanced. :)

In a coffee-cup calorimeter, 1.60 g of NH4NO3 was mixed with 75.0 g of water at an initial temperature of 25.008C. After dissolu
jekas [21]

Answer:

Explanation:

mass of the solution m = 1.6 + 75 = 76.6 g

fall in temperature = 25 - 23.34 = 1.66°C

heat absorbed = mass x specific heat x fall in temperature

= 76.6 x 1.66 x 4.18

= 531.5 J .

= .5315 kJ .

mol weight of ammonium nitrate = 80 g

heat absorbed by 1.6 g = .5315 kJ

heat absorbed by 80 g or one mole = 26.575 kJ

enthalpy change ΔH = +26.575 kJ

b )

enthalpy of hydration = 2630 kJ / mol

lattice energy = enthalpy of hydration + enthalpy change

= 2630 + 26.575

= 2656.575 kJ  .

Which of the following is most likely an indication of a chemical change?
mamaluj [8]

Hello there!

Question: Which of the following is most likely an indication of a chemical change?

Answer Choices:

A. A loud sound when an MP3 player is turned on.

B. A loud sound when someone claps their hands.

C. A loud sound when a starter's pistol is fired at a race.

D. A loud sound when a large object falls to the ground.

Correct Answer:

C. A loud sound when a starter's pistol is fired at a race.

Reasons:

A would not be correct since an MP3 player is a mechanical object and does not mix any substances that create a reaction.

B would not be correct since clapping hands causes a loud sound due to two forces slamming together and causes a disturbance in the air.

D would not be correct since a large object falling to the ground does not indicate any chemical reactions or changes since its merely the result of a mass hitting another mass.

C would be correct since the gunpowder mixes with other substances inside the pistol's chamber and causes and explosion, and explosions are part of a chemical reaction indicators.
