Someone with an IQ score of 120 can be moderately gifted. Though people with a 120 IQ do not qualify for gifted programs, it has been shown that they aren't any less likely to succeed than people with an IQ of 180. For example, those with IQs in the 120-130 range are more likely to succeed at leadership roles, while those with higher IQs might not be best suited for those positions, but are instead gifted in other areas where people with 120 IQs are not.

Hello!

Yes, someone with an IQ score of 120 can be gifted.

An IQ score of 120 means that the individual is moderately gifted. Although this IQ doesn't qualify for gifted education programs, research shows that people with IQs of about 145-180 don't perform significantly better than people with 120s IQ in terms of success.

As an example, professor Dean Simonton from the University of California found that an optimum leader should have an IQ in the 120-125 range, so having an IQ of 120 would mean that the individual is gifted for leadership.

Have a nice day!

A block of mass m=1kg sliding along a rough horizontal surface is traveling at a speed v0=2m/s when it strikes a massless spring
topjm [15]

Here we can use the work energy theorem

W_f + W_s = K_f - K_i

here we know that

K_f = 0

as it come to rest finally

K_i = \frac{1}{2}mv_i^2

K_i = \frac{1}{2}\times 1\times 2^2

K_i = 2 J

now work done by friction force will be given as

W_f = - F_f \times d = -\mu mg d

W_f = - \mu(1)(9.8)(0.10) = - 0.98\mu

Work done by spring force is given as

W_s = \frac{1}{2}k(x_i^2 - x_f^2)

W_s = \frac{1}{2}(10)( 0 - 0.10^2)

W_s = -0.05 J

so now plug in all data above

- 0.05 - \mu(0.98) = 0 - 2

\mu = 1.99

so above is the friction coefficient

A cord is used to vertically lower an initially stationary block of mass M = 3.6 kg at a constant downward acceleration of g/7.
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

(a) W_c=127.008 J

(b) W_g=148.176 J

(c) K.E. = 21.168 J

(d) v=3.4293m.s^{-1}

Explanation:

Given:

  • mass of a block, M = 3.6 kg
  • initial velocity of the block, u=0 m.s^{-1}
  • constant downward acceleration, a_d= \frac{g}{7}

\Rightarrow That a constant upward acceleration of \frac{6g}{7} is applied in the presence of gravity.

∴a=- \frac{6g}{7}

  • height through which the block falls, d = 4.2 m

(a)

Force by the cord on the block,

F_c= M\times a

F_c=3.6\times (-6)\times\frac{9.8}{7}

F_c=-30.24 N

∴Work by the cord on the block,

W_c= F_c\times d

W_c= -30.24\times 4.2

We take -ve sign because the direction of force and the displacement are opposite to each other.

W_c=-127.008 J

(b)

Force on the block due to gravity:

F_g= M.g

∵the gravity is naturally a constant and we cannot change it

F_g=3.6\times 9.8

F_g=35.28 N

∴Work by the gravity on the block,

W_g=F_g\times d

W_g=35.28\times 4.2

W_g=148.176 J

(c)

Kinetic energy of the block will be equal to the net work done i.e. sum of the two works.

mathematically:

K.E.= W_g+W_c

K.E.=148.176-127.008

K.E. = 21.168 J

(d)

From the equation of motion:

v^2=u^2+2a_d\times d

putting the respective values:

v=\sqrt{0^2+2\times \frac{9.8}{7}\times 4.2 }

v=3.4293m.s^{-1} is the speed when the block has fallen 4.2 meters.

A rock is dropped off a cliff and falls the first half of the distance to the ground in 2.0 seconds. how long will it take to fa
son4ous [18]

Answer:

The answer is 0.83 seconds.

Explanation:

The formula of free fall is following:

h=1/2*g*t^2

Where g=9.8 m/s^2 and t=2 seconds, the rock takes:

h=1/2*9.8*2^2=19.6

19.6 meters. This is the half distance of the cliff. The whole distance is 39.2 meters. So it takes:

39.2=1/2*9.8*t^2\\t^2=8\\t=2.83

2.83 second to fall down completely. The rock takes the second half of the cliff in 0.83 seconds
