The periodic table lists two main numbers for each element. the atomic number is an integer that equals the number of protons. t

he number of neutrons is not given in the periodic table because it will vary with different isotopes. the mass number of an element is the sum of the protons and neutrons. to find the number of neutrons, the atomic number must be subtracted from the mass number.

Given that isotopes do exist, the mass numbers given on the periodic table reflect the average of the most common isotopes existing. This is calculated:
Atomic Mass=(Fractional abundance of isotope 1*mass of isotope 1)+(Fractional abundance of isotope 2*mass of isotope 2)... depending on how many isotopes there are. But, generally, you can find the most likely number of neutrons by subtracting the atomic number (protons) from the atomic mass(protons+neutrons).

Do elements in the same group have same principle number?
Leviafan [203]

The s-, p-, and d-block elements of the periodic table are arranged into 18 numbered columns, or groups. The elements in each group have the same number of valence electrons. As a result, elements in the same group often display similar properties and reactivity.

What do enzymes do to chemical reactions in cells?
romanna [79]

Answer:

Enzymes are homogenous, thermolabile, biological catalyst that increases the reaction rate of a chemical reaction.

Explanation:

Enzymes are used as catalyst in many biochemical reactions.Enzymes basically interact in a complementary fashion with the transition state of the reaction thus helping to decrease the energy barrier called activation energy. Thus enzymes helps to stimulate  the velocity of biochemical reaction.

It is very important point to note that enzymes do not affect the reaction equilibrium.
