A parabola has a vertex at the origin. The focus of the parabola is located at (–2,0).
solniwko [45]
Based on the given, it can be said that the parabola is opening to the left since the focus is located at point (-2,0). Based on the basic property of the parabola, the distance between the vertex and the focus is equal to the distance from the vertex to the point where the directrix passes through. Also, the directrix is always parallel to the latus rectum. Therefore, equation of directrix, x=2

Given :

A graph of Total Meals Packed vs Time( in hours ).

To Find :

How many meals would be packed in 20 hours.

Solution :

First we will find the equation of line.

Now, the line passes through ( 0, 0 ) and ( 4, 500 ).

So, equation of line passing through ( 0, 0 ) and ( 4, 500 ) is :

y - 0 = \dfrac{500-0}{4-0}( x - 0 )\\\\y = 125x

Now, putting the value of x = 20 hours in above equation, we get :

y = 125 × 20 meals

y = 2500 meals

Therefore, number of meals packed in 20 hours is 2500 meals.

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define

Identify

4x + 3(2x - 4) = x

Step 2: Solve for x

  1. [Distributive Property] Distribute 3:                                                                 4x + 6x - 12 = x
  2. [Addition] Combine like terms:                                                                        10x - 12 = x
  3. [Subtraction Property of Equality] Subtract x on both sides:                         9x - 12 = 0
  4. [Addition Property of Equality] Add 12 on both sides: 9x = 12
  5. [Division Property of Equality] Divide 9 on both sides: x = 4/3
