Answer:

csc(3π/4) = √2

Step-by-step explanation:

∵ csc(3π/4) = 1 ÷ sin(3π/4)

∵ ∠(3π/4) lies on the second quadrant

∴ sin(3π/4) is positive value (according to ASTC Rule)

* ASTC Rule ⇒ (All +ve in 1st quadrant , Sin +ve in 2nd , Tan +ve

                         in 3rd quadrant , Cos +ve in 4th quadrant)

∴ sin(3π/4) = sin(π - α) ⇒ where α is an acute angle

∴ 3π/4 = π - α ⇒ α = π - 3π/4 = π/4

∵ sin²x + cos²x = 1

∵ sin(π/4) = cos(π/4)

∴ 2sin²(π/4) = 1 ⇒ sin²(π/4) = 1/2 ⇒ sin(π/4) = √(1/2)

∴ sin (π/4) = 1/√2

∴ sin(3π/4) = 1/√2

∴ csc(3π/4) = 1 ÷ 1/√2 = 1 × √2/1 = √2

Answer:

\sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the trigonometric identity

• csc x = \frac{1}{sinx}

sin( \frac{3\pi }{4}) = sin (\frac{\pi }{4}) = \frac{1}{\sqrt{2} }, hence

csc (\frac{3\pi }{4}) = \frac{1}{\frac{1}{\sqrt{2} } } = \sqrt{2}

5:5 (first box, pencils to pens)

7:3 (second box, coloured pencils to crayons)

The probability of picking a pen (1st box): 5/10

The probability of picking a crayon (2nd box): 3/10

Probability of picking both: 5/10*3/10 = 15/100

hammer [34]

Answer:

The probability that a randomly selected component needs rework when it came from line A₁ is 0.3623.

Step-by-step explanation:

The three different assembly lines are: A₁, A₂ and A₃.

Denote <em>R</em> as the event that a component needs rework.

It is given that:

P (R|A_{1})=0.05\\P (R|A_{2})=0.08\\P (R|A_{3})=0.10\\P (A_{1})=0.50\\P (A_{2})=0.30\\P (A_{3})=0.20

Compute the probability that a randomly selected component needs rework as follows:

P(R)=P(R|A_{1})P(A_{1})+P(R|A_{2})P(A_{2})+P(R|A_{3})P(A_{3})\\=(0.05\times0.50)+(0.08\times0.30)+(0.10\times0.20)\\=0.069

Compute the probability that a randomly selected component needs rework when it came from line A₁ as follows:

P (A_{1}|R)=\frac{P(R|A_{1})P(A_{1})}{P(R)}=\frac{0.05\times0.50}{0.069}  =0.3623

Thus, the probability that a randomly selected component needs rework when it came from line A₁ is 0.3623.
