A golfer pulls on the eighteenth green at a distance of 5.0m from the hole. The ball rolls straight. In the positive direction,

but overshoots the hole by 1.2m. The golfer then putts back to the hole and sinks the putt for par. What is the displacement of the ball?

Answer:

Explanation:

The initial position of the ball = - 5 .0 m from the hole .

It is negative because , direction towards the hole is positive so direction from the hole will be negative .

Final position of the ball = 0 m from the hole .

Displacement of the ball = Final position - Initial position

= 0 - ( - 5 ) = 5 .0 m

Displacement = + 5 m

In a charging process, 1 × 10^13 electrons are removed from one small metal sphere and placed on a second identical sphere. Init
liraira [26]

Answer:

r = 0.303m

= 30.3cm

Explanation:

Given that,

The number of electrons transferred from one sphere to the other,

n = 1 ×10 ¹³e le c t r o n s

The electrostatic potential energy between the spheres,

U = − 0.061 J

The charge on an electron,

q = − 1.6 × 10 ⁻¹⁹C

The coulomb constant,

K = 8.98755 × 10 ⁹ N ⋅ m ² / C 2²

Due to the transfer of electrons, both spheres become equally and oppositely.

The charge gained by the sphere due to the excess of the electron is:

q ₁ = n q

 = 1 ×10 ¹³ * − 1.6 × 10 ⁻¹⁹

 = -1.6 × 10⁻⁶C

The charge left on the first sphere is =

q ₂ = -q₁ = 1.6 × 10⁻⁶C

The electric potential energy between two point charges is given by the following equation:

U = K q ₁q ₂/r

q ₁ and q ₂ are the two charges.

r is the distance between the charge and the point.

K = 8.98755 × 10 ⁹ N ⋅ m ² / C ²

we have:

-0.061 = (8.98755 × 10 ⁹ * (-1.6 × 10⁻⁶)²) / r

r = (18.41 × 10 ⁻³) / 0.061

r = 0.303m

= 30.3cm

Doubling an object’s height will have what effect on its potential energy due to gravity?
Gekata [30.6K]

Potential energy due to gravity = Ep = mgh [symbols have their usual meaning

Evidently, HALVING the mass will make Ep , HALF its previous value. So, It will be halved.

A person runs 15 kilometers in two hours what is his/her average speed
bazaltina [42]

Answer:

\displaystyle V=7.5\ km/h

Explanation:

Average Speed

If an object travels a distance d in a time t regardless of the direction, the average speed is the quotient of the distance over the time:

\displaystyle V=\frac{d}{t}

It's known a person runs d=15 kilometers in t=2 hours, thus his/her average speed is:

\displaystyle V=\frac{15\ km}{2\ h}

Calculating:

\boxed{\displaystyle V=7.5\ km/h}

What data will you collect in order to calculate the balloon car’s velocity?
Anvisha [2.4K]

Answer:

To calculate speed, all you have to do is divide distance by time.

Explanation:

Velocity is just speed in a particular direction. For example, if in 3 hours you ran 6 kilometers west, your velocity was 6 km/3 hours = 2 km/hour west.

Standing at the same location, which organism would have the GREATEST gravitational attraction to the earth?
Nastasia [14]
To claculate the gravitational attraction between two bodies with mass 1(m1) and mass 2 (m2) you need to use the equation:

F= G ((m1*m2)/r^2)

Where;
G is the gravitational constant (6.67E-11 m^3 s-2 Kg-1) and
r is the distance between the two objects.
