10 yellow cards over 30 = 10/30
second selection : 9 yellow cards over 29 = 9/29

10/30 * 9/29 = 1/3 * 9 /29 = 3/29 = 0.1034 = 10.34%

P( 2 yelloes ) =  10/30 * 9/29 =  = 90 / 870 = 9/87 = 3/29 Anser

P(Y then G) = 10/30 * 6/29 = 2/29  Answer

P(2 cards not orange) =  21/30 * 20/29 = 14/29

P(2 cards neither G nor R) =  19/30 * 18/29 =  57/145

P(2 G) = 6/30 * 5/29 = 1/29

P( R then O) =   5/30 * 9/29  =  3/58

What is the surface area of the net? *inches squared*
serious [3.7K]

9514 1404 393

Answer:

  75 in^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The central vertical rectangle (including "ears") has dimensions

  3 in wide by (9+2+2) = 13 in tall

Its area is

  A = LW = (3 in)(13 in) = 39 in^2

__

The two rectangles either side of that have dimensions 2 in by 9 in. The area of each of them is

  A = LW = (2 in)(9 in) = 18 in^2

__

The total net area is the sum of the areas of the parts:

  left rectangle + central rectangle + right rectangle

  = 18 in^2 + 39 in^2 + 18 in^2 = 75 in^2 . . . . surface area of the net

\large\boxed{d=\dfrac{e^2+e}{1-3e}}

Step-by-step explanation:

\dfrac{d-e}{3d+e}=e\\\\\dfrac{d-e}{3d+e}=\dfrac{e}{1}\qquad\text{cross multiply}\\\\(1)(d-e)=(e)(3d+e)\qquad\text{use the distributive property}\\\\d-e=3de+e^2\qquad\text{add}\ e\ \text{to both sides}\\\\d=3de+e+e^2\qquad\text{subtract}\ 3de\ \text{from both sides}\\\\d-3de=e^2+e\qquad\text{distribute}\\\\d(1-3e)=e^2+e\qquad\text{divide both sides by}\ (1-3e)\\\\d=\dfrac{e^2+e}{1-3e}
