Which is most soluble in hexane (c6h14), benzene (c6h6) or ethanol (c2h5oh)?
astraxan [27]
Between between  benzene  and  ethanol , Benzene is  the  most  soluble   in  hexane. reason been  benzene  can  form  a  hydrogen bond  with  hexane, also  benzene  can form  london  forces  with  hexane  molecule. In  addition  benzene can form  dipole-dipole  interaction  with  hexane  molecules

According to the law of multiple proportions, if 12 g of carbon combine with 16 g of oxygen to form co, the number of grams of c
scZoUnD [109]

The amount of carbon combined with oxygen in order to form Carbon Dioxide(CO₂)  is 12 grams

The Law of Multiple proportions is one of the basic laws in chemistry along with the Law of Definite proportion. This law was proposed by John Dalton in 1803. The law states that if two elements react to form one or more compounds then the ratio of masses of both the elements is in the ratio of small whole numbers.

It is known that Carbon can form two different compounds while reacting with Oxygen that is: Carbon Monoxide, Carbon Dioxide. For Carbon Monoxide, 12g of Carbon needs to react with 16g of Oxygen. Whereas, In Carbon Dioxide, 12g of Carbon needs to react with 32g of Oxygen. So the mass of Carbon is equal in both cases is 12g.

                      C(12g)   +   O(16g)   ⇒  CO   (Carbon Monoxide)

                      C(12g)   +  2O(32g) ⇒  CO₂  (Carbon Dioxide)

A quantity of 0.0250 mol of a gas initially at 0.050 L and 19.0°C undergoes a constant-temperature expansion against a constant
KiRa [710]

Answer:

V_2=2.995L\\\\W=248.5J

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, for us to compute the final volume we apply the Boyle's law that analyzes the pressure-volume temperature as an inversely proportional relationship:

P_1V_1=P_2V_2

So we solve for V_2 by firstly computing the initial pressure:

P_1=\frac{nRT}{V_1}=\frac{0.025mol*0.082\frac{atm*L}{mol*K}*(19+273.15)K}{0.050L}  =11.98atm

V_2=\frac{P_1V_1}{P_2}=\frac{11.98atm*0.050L}{0.200atm}\\ \\V_2=2.995L

Finally, we can compute the work by using the following formula:

W=nRTln(\frac{V_2}{V_1} )=0.025mol*8.314\frac{J}{mol*K}*(19.0+273.15)K*ln(\frac{2.995L}{0.050L}) \\\\W=248.5J

Best regards.

What is the molarity of a solution with 130g of CoCl2 in 1/2 liter? (can you show the steps please)
Elden [556K]

Answer:

2M

Explanation:

M=mol/L

1. Find moles of CoCl2

mass of substance/molar mass = 130/129.833 = 1.001 mol

3. Substitute in molarity equation

M=(1.001/0.5)

M= around 2M
