The law of conservation of mass states that the number of atoms of each element on the product side should equal the number of atoms of each element on the reactant side. The unbalanced equation:

CaSO_4 ==> O_2 + CaS

Through introspection, we can see that the Oxygen atom (O) has 4 atoms on reactant side and two atoms on product side.  So in order to balance the equation we add a coefficient of 2 on the oxygen in the product side, to get a balanced equation:

CaSO_4 ==> 2O_2 + CaS.

A person applies a rightward force of 80 N to a cart of physics textbooks what is the reaction force
Goryan [66]

Just as Prof. Newton said: "For every action, there is an EQUAL, OPPOSITE reaction.". (See his motion law #3.)

If our person APPLIED a force of 80N pointing to the right, then that's the 'action'.  It must follow, as the night follows the day, that the strength of the equal REaction is also 80N, and it points to the left because it's opposite to the action.

Answer:

A) An organism with favorable genetic variation will tend to survive and breed successfully.

Explanation:

In an ecosystem, organisms that don't have the best genetic variation will die off, leaving the more genetic favored ones to survive and become better as a whole.

Two straight wires are in parallel and carry electrical currents in opposite directions with the same magnitude of LaTeX: 2.02.0
koban [17]

Answer:

2.4\times 10^{-5} N

Explanation:

We are given that

I_1=I_2=2.0 A

Distance between the wires,d=5.0 mm=5\times 10^{-3} m

1mm=10^{-3} m

Length of other wire,l=0.3 m

Length of one wire is infinite.

We have to find the magnitude of force between the two wires.

We know that magnetic force

F=\frac{2\mu_0 I_1I_2 l}{4\pi d}

Where \frac{\mu_0}{4\pi}=10^{-7}

F=\frac{2\times 10^{-7}\times 2\times 2\times 0.3}{5\times 10^{-3}}

F=2.4\times 10^{-5} N

When the wires carrying equal current in opposite direction then the force between two wires repel to each other.

what is the initial velocity of a go-kart traveling at a uniform acceleration of 0.5 m/s^2 for 5s as it slows down to a stop?
timurjin [86]

The initial velocity of go-kart is 2.5 m/s.

<u>Explanation:</u>

Here, the uniform acceleration of go-kart is given as 0.5 m/s². Also the time required by it to stop is also given as 5 s. As acceleration is the measure of change in velocity per unit time.

In this case, the velocity should be changed from a value to zero to come to rest. So the initial velocity will be positive value and final velocity is zero.

As we know the values of acceleration, final velocity and time, the initial velocity can be easily determined as follows.

Acceleration = \frac{Final velocity -Initial velocity}{Time}

Since, final velocity is zero, acceleration is 0.5 m/s² and time is 5 s, then,

        -0.5=\frac{-\text {Initial velocity}}{5}

        Initial velocity = 0.5 × 5 = 2.5 m/s.

So the initial velocity of go-kart is 2.5 m/s.
