A block-and-tackle pulley hoist is suspended in a warehouse by ropes of lengths 2 m and 3 m. the hoist weighs 430 n. the ropes,

fastened at different heights, make angles of 50° and 38° with the horizontal. find the tension in each rope and the magnitude of each tension. (let t2 and t3, represent the tension vectors corresponding to the ropes of length 2 m and 3 m respectively. round all numerical values to two decimal places.)

Refer to the diagram shown below.

For horizontal equilibrium,
T₃ cos38 = T₂ cos 50
0.788 T₃ = 0.6428 T₂
T₃ = 0.8157 T₂                (1)

For vertical equilibrium,
T₂ sin 50 + T₃ sin 38 = 430
0.766 T₂ + 0.6157 T₃ = 430
1.2441 T₂ + T₃ = 698.392        (2)

Substitute (1) into (2).
(1.2441 + 0.8157) T₂ = 698.392
T₂ = 339.058 N
T₃ = 0.8157(399.058) = 276.571 N

Answer:
T₂ = 339.06 N
T₃ = 276.57 N

The gravitational force is s type of force that has the ability to attract any two objects having mass. The gravitational force will be 4.16\times10^{23}.

<h3>What is the gravitational force?</h3>

The gravitational force is s type of force that has the ability to attract any two objects with mass. Gravitational force tries to pull two masses towards each other.

                      F= G\frac{m_1m_2}{r^{2} }

Given,

mass of the sun (m_1)= 1.99\times10^{23} kg

mass of Jupiter(m_2)= 7.79\times10^{8} kg

distance between the sun and Jupiter (r)= 1.90\times10^{27} m

F= G\frac{m_1m_2}{r^{2} }\\\\\\F=4.16\times10^{23}\times\frac{1.99\times10^{23}\times7.79\times10^{8}}{({1.90\times10^{27})^2} }

F= 4.16\times(10)^{23}   Newton

Hence the gravitational force between the sun and Jupiter will be 4.16\times10^{23}

A man has a mass of 66 kg on the earth. What is his weight.
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
Since force = mass X acceleration, then the force he excerts on the earth (aka his weight) equals his mass times the force of gravity.

Therefore
W = (66 kg) X (9.8 m/ss)
W = 646.8 kgm/ss

kg m/ss are also known as Newtons, so your answer is...

646.8 N

An unstrained horizontal spring has a length of 0.31 m and a spring constant of 220 N/m. Two small charged objects are attached
Kruka [31]
The solution you should use is Hooke's law: F=-kx

It should have the same signs because they repel due to the stretch of the spring.

a. Since there is a constant energy within the spring, then Hooke's law will determine the possible algebraic signs. The solution should be
<span>F = kx
270 N/m x 0.38 m = 102.6 N
</span>
b. Then use Coulomb's law; F=kq1q2/r^2 to find the charges produced in the force.
