Explanation:

Amorphous solids are the substances in which atoms or molecules are arranged in a disorder manner. That is, molecules are randomly arranged to each other.

An amorphous solid have only small region where atoms are arranged in a definite order. This is known as short range order.

For example, rubber, glass, pitch etc are all amorphous solids.

Whereas a crystalline solid has atoms arranged in a definite or regular order.

This order is so regular that by knowing just any one site arrangement we can predict the arrangement of another site. This is known as long range order.

A crystalline solid possesses both long range and short range order. Whereas an amorphous solid possesses only short range order.

Hence, we can conclude that since there is only short range order present in an amorphous solid that is why amorphous solids not have a long range order in the arrangement of their particle.

Two (2) moles of an ideal gas are in a container at 200 kpa and a temperature of 300 k. The volume occupied by the gas in the co
k0ka [10]

The volume occupied by the gas in the container is 1 m³

Boyles law applies

P₁ V₁ = P₂ V₂

Where P₁ = 200kpa

P₂ = 300kpa

if its initial volume is 1.5

then,

P₁ V₁ = P₂ V₂

200 × 1.5 = 300 × V₂

V₂ = 200 × 1.5 / 300

    = 1 m³

Hence  the volume occupied by the gas container is 1 m³

Exactly one mole of an ideal gas is contained in a 2.00 liter container at 1,000 K. What is the pressure exerted by this gas?
Kipish [7]
pV = nRT

p = nRT/V

p= 1 x 0.08205 x 1000/ 2

p = 41.025 Pa

Edit: The unit should be atm instead of Pa, as pointed out by a nice human being.

Complete and balance the molecular equation, including the phases, for the reaction of aqueous potassium sulfate, k2so4, and aqu
Tju [1.3M]
The reaction between K₂SO₄(aq) and SrI₂(aq) produces KI(aq) and SrSO₄(s) as products.

The reaction is
K₂SO₄(aq) + SrI₂(aq) → KI(aq)+ SrSO₄(s)

To balance the equation both side of the reaction should have same number of atoms in each element.

Right hand side of the reaction has 1 K, 1 I, 1 Sr, 1 S and 4 O atoms while 2 K, 2 I, 1 Sr,1 S and 4 O present in left hand side of the reaction.
Hence, number of I atoms and number of K atoms are not balanced.
To balance the K atoms we should add 2 before KI. Then I atoms will be 2 at the right hand side.

Hence, the balanced reaction equation is
K₂SO₄(aq) + SrI₂(aq) → 2KI(aq)+ SrSO₄(s)
