Explain why the sum 2x^2 + 4x^2  is not equivalent to 6^4  What is the correct answer?

6x^2 is the correct answer to the problem.

In my opinion I think that 2*2 and 4*2 is not 24 because 2*2 equals 4 and 4*2 equals 8 and when you add them up it gives you 12 and when you multiply them it gives you 32. :)
