Seeing your method 1 answer, it seems like you forgot that 42 dollars is for 6 guests, not just 1. The unit rate is the rate per guest, and if we divide 42 by 6, we get 7dollars/1person as our unit rate. Since 7 dollars is our unit rate, we can multiply that by 72 to get 504 dollars, therefore making 500$ per night more cost effective.

Another way to do this is to do 42*72, as you did, but then dividing the final product by 6 due to that 42*72 is for 72*6=432 guests (we get the 6 since the unit rate is 7$ per person and 42/7=6). Doing that, we get 3024/6=504, which is still greater than 500

Use the distance formula to find the distance between the points given.
masha68 [24]

The distance between the points is 4\sqrt{13}

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula of the distance between two points (x_{1},y_{1}) and

(x_{2},y_{2}) is d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}}

To find the distance between two point:

  • Put one of the two point as (x_{1},y_{1})
  • Put the other point as (x_{2},y_{2})
  • Substitute then in the rule of the distance and calculate the distance

∵ The two points are (18 , -2) and (6 , -10)

- Put (18 , -2) as (x_{1},y_{1}) and (6 , -10) as (x_{2},y_{2})

∴ x_{1} = 18 and x_{2} = 6

∴ y_{1} = -2 and y_{2} = -10

- Substitute them in the rule below

∵ d=\sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1})^{2}+(y_{2}-y_{1})^{2}}

∴ d=\sqrt{(6-18)^{2}+(-10--2)^{2}}

∴ d=\sqrt{(-12)^{2}+(-10+2)^{2}}

∴ d=\sqrt{(-12)^{2}+(-8)^{2}}

∵ (-12)² = 144 and (-8)² = 64

∴ d=\sqrt{144+64}

∴ d=\sqrt{208}

∵ \sqrt{208}=4\sqrt{13}

∴ d=4\sqrt{13}

The distance between the points is 4\sqrt{13}

If i have a pay rate of $21.00 and marked up 78.7% and made a 10% profit. how did i get $41.28?
Virty [35]

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we have given that

Amount of pay rate =$21

If she marked up by 78.7% , so it becomes

78.7\%\text{ of}\$21\\\\=\frac{78.7}{100}\times \$21\\\\=\$16.527

So, our amount for pay rate becomes

21+16.527\\\\=\$37.527

Now, he said he made a profit of 10%,so it becomes

10\%\text{ of }37.527\\\\=\frac{10}{100}\times 32.527\\\\=\$3.7527

So, our new pay rate becomes

37.527+3.7527\\\\=\$41.2797

This is the step through which we can get $41.28.
