There are 1,520 quarts of mustard oil remaining in the container.

Out of the 100%, 76% of oil remains which means 24% of the mustard oil was consumed.

100% - 76% = 24%

Since the 480 quarts of oil is the amount of oil used, it means that 480 quarts is the 24% of the mustard oil.

To get the remaining number of quarts, you must first get the total number of quarts the container held.

1) divide 480 quarts by its percentage to get the total number.

480 / 24% or 480 / 0.24 = 2,000 quarts. total number of mustard oil in quarts.

2) Multiply the percentage of the remaining quarts to the total number of quarts.

2000 x 76% or 2000 x 0.76 = 1,520 quarts remaining.

It can also be done by subtracting 480 from 2000; 2000 - 480 = 1,520.

The best approach to take here is to find out what 1% and 10% are, then multiply them accordingly.
To find 10%, just divide the amount of quarts by 10.
480/10= 48
Therefore, 10% is 48 quarts.
To find 1%, you then divide the 10% by 10.
48/10= 4/8
Therefore, 1% is 4.8 quarts.
As you're looking for 76, you can either multiply the 1% by 76, or you can break it down into two parts, which may be easier, which is the method that I will use.
I would split it into 70% and 6%
As you've got 10%, in order to find 70%, you just need to multiply this by 7.
48*7= 336.
you then need to find the odd 6%.
As you've find 1%, you need to then multiply this by 6.
4.8*6= 28.8
You then need to add these together to get your total.
336+28.8= 364.8
As you're looking for the remainder, you then need to take this away from 480.
480-364.8= 115.2
Therefore, you have 115.2 quarts of mustard oil remaining.
Hope this helps :)

<h3>Answer:  25w+200 > 750</h3>

==========================================================

Explanation:

He starts off with 200 cards. Then he adds on 25w more cards for each week (w). Overall, he'll have 200+25w cards

We can think of it like this:

  • After 1 week, he adds on 25*1 = 25 cards
  • After 2 weeks, he adds on 25*2 = 50 cards total
  • After 3 weeks, he adds on 25*3 = 75 cards total
  • After 4 weeks, he adds on 25*4 = 100 cards total, and so on.
  • After w weeks, he adds on 25w cards total

So that's another way to see where the 25w comes from.

The expression 200+25w is the same as 25w+200. This is because we can add two numbers in any order.

------------

Since he wants to know when he'll have more than 750 cards, this means we set 25w+200 greater than 750.

That's how we get to the answer of 25w+200 > 750

Notice how there isn't a line under the inequality sign. We aren't using the "greater than or equal to" symbol here. We want to know when the cards gets over 750, but we don't want to know when it's equal to 750.

Amy's penny bank is 1/2 full. After she adds 360 pennies, it is 5/6 full. How many pennies can Amy's bank hold?
stellarik [79]

Answer:

1,080 Pennies

Step-by-step explanation:

This question is fairly simple, you just have to simplify it. You are starting at already half-full, so you can keep that 1/2 in mind. Then, she adds 360 pennies to get 5/6. If you convert 1/2 into 3/6, you can see that 360 pennies fills 2/6 of the piggy bank. So now you can solve two different ways. The first, you can take 360 and multiply it by 3 to get the amount that can fit in the piggy bank, because 2 * 3 = 6 and that would make it 6/6, or 1. The other way would be to divide 360 by 2 to get 1/6 of the piggy bank, or 180. Then you can multiply 180 by 6 to get the entire amount.

Hope this helped ^-^

In triangle abc, m of acb = 90, cd is perpendicular to ab , m of acd is 60. and bd is 5 cm. find ad
weeeeeb [17]

Let us draw a picture to make the things more clear.

Attached is the image.

We have been given that

\angle acd = 60 ^{\circ}

Therefore, we have

\angle dcb =90- 60= 30 ^{\circ}

Now, in triangle bcd, we have

\tan30 = \frac{5}{cd}\\&#10;\\&#10;\frac{1}{\sqrt 3}=\frac{5}{cd}\\&#10;\\&#10;cd=5\sqrt 3

Now, in triangle acb, we have

tan 60 = \frac{ad}{5\sqrt3} \\&#10;\\&#10;\sqrt 3= \frac{ad}{5\sqrt3}\\&#10;\\&#10;ad= 5\sqrt3 \times \sqrt 3\\&#10;\\&#10;ad= 5\times 3\\&#10;\\&#10;ad=15

Thus, ad is 15 cm.
