Bubble wrap sells in sheets, and each sheet has 1 million individual spherical bubbles, each with a diameter of 0.01 m. What is

the total volume of air contained in the bubbles of two sheets of bubble wrap? Round to the nearest tenth.

Volume of each sphere = 4/3πr^3 = 4/3π(0.01/2)^3 = 5.236 x 10^-7
Volume of the 1 million bubles in 1 sheet = 1,000,000(5.236 x 10^-7) = 0.5236
Volume of air contained in the bubbles of 2 sheets of bubble wrap = 2(0.5236) = 1.047 cubic meters.

Jonathan has a collection of 400 marbles. Blue makes up 17% of his collection, how many blue marbles does Jonathan have?
Yuki888 [10]
So percent means parts out of 100 so 17%=17/100
400 marbles
17% of 400=blue
'of' can be translated to multiply
17%=17/100
17/100 ties 400=6800/100=68

Rolls are being prepared to go to grocery stores. Divide 72 rolls into 2 groups so the ratio is 3 to 5.
Alenkasestr [34]
We need to divide 72 rolls into 2 groups so that their ratio is 3:5. First, we can see that the ratio of 3:5 tells us there is 8 separate groups of rolls. Now its easy, since we have 72 rolls and we need to divide them into 8 equal groups: 72/8=9. So each group has 9 rolls. Now we separate them into groups with the ratio 3:5, so: 3*9:5*9 and that is: 27 rolls and 45 rolls.

1. Which represents the type of sequence: -99, -96, -92, -87, -81, …?
Juli2301 [7.4K]
So here are the answers for the given questions above:
1. Based on the given values above, the correct answer would be option B. NEITHER ARITHMETIC NOR GEOMETRIC. Why? When we say arithmetic sequence, the values should have a common difference which remains constant all throughout the sequence, and this sequence does not qualify. On the other hand, a geometric sequence should have a common ratio, and these numbers do not have one.
2. The correct answer for this problem would be option C. 121,520.
Based on the given values above, the values have a common ratio of 1.1. So what we are going to do is just to multiply 1.1 each time and by 2016, we will get 121,520.
Hope these answers help.

Explain why we use estimation when we add or subtract. How might it help us when do we use it in everyday life Provide Examples
kherson [118]

We use estimation beacause;

Esimation helps us because for example, if there were a can of jellybeans and you had to know the right amount, because you wanted to sell them, and had to put the exact number of jellybeans, then estimation would be about that exact number of jellybeans. Or estimating how much money you earned in your work, or what you shopped for, estimating helps us in everyday life. If you need more examples feel free to ask me.

Hope helps!-Aparri
