It actually depends on whether it is a plant cell, animal cell, or single-cell organism. Plants and some bacteria passthrm through a cell wall which has openings in it. Animals pass them through their cell membrane through almost any point.

A rock drops from a height of 60 m. how long does it take for it to hit the ground
Svet_ta [14]
Here, Apply 2nd equation of the Kinematics :
S = ut + 1/2 at²
Here, s = 60 m
u = 0   [ free fall ]
a = 9.8 m/s²  [ constant value for Earth system ]

Substitute their values,
60 = 0*t + 1/2 * 9.8 * t²
120 = 9.8t²
t² = 120 / 9.8
t = √12.24
t = 3.50 s

In short, Your Answer would be 3.50 seconds

Hope this helps!

Two cars start a race with initial velocity 7ms-1 and 4ms-1 respectively.Their acceleration are 0.4ms-2 and 0.5ms-2 respectively
Ronch [10]

The distance of the track is 600 m

Explanation:

The two cars move by uniformly accelerated motion, so we the distance they cover after a time t is described by the following suvat equation

d=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2

where

u is the initial velocity

a is the acceleration

For car 1, we have

d_1 = u_1 t + \frac{1}{2}a_1 t^2

where

u_1 = 7 m/s is the initial velocity of car 1

a_1 = 0.4 m/s^2 is the acceleration of car 1

So the equation can be rewritten as

d_1 = 7t + 0.2t^2

For car 2, we have

d_2 = u_2 t + \frac{1}{2}a_2 t^2

where

u_2 = 4 m/s is the initial velocity of car 2

a_2 = 0.5 m/s^2 is the acceleration of car 2

So the equation can be rewritten as

d_2= 5t + 0.25t^2

The two cars finish the race at the same time: this means that they cover the same distance in the same time t, so we can write

d_1 = d_2\\7t + 0.2t^2=5t + 0.25t^2

And solving for t, we find

2t - 0.05t^2= 0\\t(2-0.05t)=0

Which gives two solutions:

t = 0 (initial instant)

t = 40 s

Therefore, the distance of the track is

d_1 = 7t +0.2t^2 = 7\cdot 40+0.2\cdot 40^2=600 m

Please help! A net force of 2.0 N acts on a 2.0-kg object for 10 seconds. What is the object’s kinetic energy after that 10 seco
padilas [110]
For Newton's second law, the force F applied to the object of mass m will cause an acceleration a of the body:
F=ma
So, the acceleration is
a= \frac{F}{m}= \frac{2.0 N}{2.0 kg}=1 m/s^2

The object undergoes through this acceleration for 10 seconds, t=10 s. Since it is an accelerated motion, we can find its final velocity after 10 seconds:
v_f = v_i + at=0 m/s+(1m/s^2)(10 s)=10 m/s
where v_i is the initial velocity of the object, which is zero since it starts from rest.

Finally we can calculate the final kinetic energy of the object, which is given by
K= \frac{1}{2}mv^2= \frac{1}{2}(2.0 kg)(10 m/s)^2=100 J

What is the direction of the magnetic field b⃗ a at point a?
pogonyaev

Answer: Use the Right -hand Rule to find the direction of the magnetic field.

Explanation: A magnetic force only occur, in a magnetic field, when a particle is moving perpendicularly relative to the magnetic field. So, all three quantities are perpendicular among themselves.

The Right-Hand Rule apply for the positive charges moving in conventional current. If the moving charge is negative, the velocity must be reversed.

Right-Hand Rule determines the direction of any or all of the three and it is as follows: With you right hand, point your index finger in the direction of the velocity, your middle finger in the direction of the magnetic field and your thumb will be pointing in the direction of the magnetic force.

Another way of using the rule is when there is a current carrying wire:

The fingers of your right hand will curl into a half circle around the wire, they will point in the direction of the field. The thumb will point in the direction of the conventional current.
