To find the weight of this sand you will use the formula for finding the volume of a cone and then multiply this by 100.  The volume will give us the number of cubic feet.

V = 1/3 x B x h (B is the area of the circle)
V = 1/3 x (pi x r^2) x h
      1/3 x 3.14 x 3.75^2 x 4.5
V = 66.23 cubic feet

66 cubic feet x 100 = 6600 pounds

The sand weighs approximately 6600 pounds.

mote1985 [20]
<h2>Answer with explanation:</h2>

Given : In a restaurant, the proportion of people who order coffee with their dinner is p.

Sample size : n= 144

x= 120

\hat{p}=\dfrac{x}{n}=\dfrac{120}{144}=0.83333333\approx0.8333

The null and the alternative hypotheses if you want to test if p is greater than or equal to 0.85 will be :-

Null hypothesis : H_0: p\geq0.85   [ it takes equality (=, ≤, ≥) ]

Alternative hypothesis : H_1: p  [its exactly opposite of null hypothesis]

∵Alternative hypothesis is left tailed, so the test is a left tailed test.

Test statistic : z=\dfrac{\hat{p}-p}{\sqrt{\dfrac{p(1-p)}{n}}}

z=\dfrac{0.83-0.85}{\sqrt{\dfrac{0.85(1-0.85)}{144}}}\\\\=-0.561232257678\approx-0.56

Using z-vale table ,

Critical value for 0.05 significance ( left-tailed test)=-1.645

Since the calculated value of test statistic is greater than the critical value , so we failed to reject the null hypothesis.

Conclusion : We have enough evidence to support the claim that p is greater than or equal to 0.85.

Linda is making a mosaic stepping stone to place in
Lorico [155]

Answer:

D 565.2 in

Step-by-step explanation:

First you need to find the area of the stepping stone. The rule for area of circle is pi times radius squared. To find the radius you divide 12 by 2 = 6. After you do 6 times 6= 36 you multiply 36 times pi (3.14) = 113.04. After we find the are of the stepping stone we multiply it by five to get how many inches we have to cover. 113.04 times 5= 565.2 in.

Find x and y with only 13.1
sdas [7]

Answer:

x= 45

y= 18.5 (3 s.f.)

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the quadrilateral has 4 equal sides, it is a square and hence the 4 angles are right angles.

I have drawn the 2 triangles of the square separately for better understanding.

Please see the attached pictures for full solution.
