-9.2 (x-3.75)=27.6

is the same as
-9.2×x-(-9.2×3.75)=27.6

clean up the left side
-9.2x-34.5=27.6

add 34.5 to both sides to get rid of it on the right side
-9.2x=27.6+34.5
-9.2x=62.1

now divide both side by -8.2 to get rid of -9.2 on the left and single out the x
x=62.1/-9.2

answer
x= -6.75
