The correct answer is :The completion of the construction of the Panama Canal took place six months early because new machines and technologies were invented.
-
The preparations lasted three years and the construction of the canal began in 1907. It was a very large company. The workers began their journey at 7 in the morning and rested on Sundays. At dusk they were transported by trains to their homes. In the morning, crews of workers drilled the rock to introduce dynamite. At lunchtime, the workers rested and the dynamiters began their turn. In the afternoon, crews equipped with mechanical shovels loaded the debris into the wagons. At 5 o'clock in the afternoon most of the workers stopped working, but drilling and explosions continued.
The Americans decided to build two sets of gates: one to raise the boats up to the level of Gatun Lake - about 26 m above sea level, at the exit of the canal to the Caribbean - and another to lower them at the opposite end of the canal. These gigantic gates, built on the ground, required 3.4 million cubic meters of concrete. Its base had a thickness of 4 to 6 m and the walls, perforated like a hive to empty or fill the gates, measured almost 15 m thick at the base.
The Panama Canal cost the US government 352 million dollars - four times more than the Suez Canal - and claimed 5,609 lives, including accidents and illnesses. Even so, the cost was 23 million dollars less than budgeted and the channel was inaugurated six months earlier than expected, in August 1914.

Today fewer than 250,000 people make their primary living from food foraging. Where do the remaining food foragers often live?.
bekas [8.4K]

Less than 250,000 people currently depend on food foraging as their main source of income. The remaining foragers so frequently inhabit habitats (cold locations, woodlands, islands) where other methods of food production are not viable.

To forage is to look for wild food sources. It has an impact on an animal's fitness because it's crucial to its capacity for survival and reproduction. A subfield of behavioral ecology known as foraging theory examines how animals respond to their living environments by changing how they forage. There are two basic categories of foraging. The first is solitary foraging, which occurs when animals go hunting alone. The second is foraging in groups.

Today, fewer than 250,000 people rely on food foraging as their main source of income. Because other methods of food production are not sustainable in these environments (cold places, forests, islands), the remaining food foragers frequently live there.

1.1.1. Define the human rights violation that you have chosen
sergij07 [2.7K]

The violation of human rights implies in situations of loss of freedom, violence and social inequality, being a social problem that must be actively fought.

What are human rights?

They correspond to the rights inherent to all citizens, being superior to the rights of the State, in order to maintain the protection of individuals and society. For example, the right to:

 • Life
 • Freedom
 • Job
 • Freedom of expression

When a right is violated, such as gender-based violence, there is a violation of essential human rights, since every human being must be free and not suffer torture or any situation that implies their safety.

Therefore, it is essential that there is greater control and implementation of strict policies for the promotion and protection of human rights.
