When nebulae collapses due to their own weight, this is due to gravity. The gravity causes atoms to fuse and a protostar is born from the fusion of hydrogen. Fusion of hydrogen forms heavier elements such as helium and more fusion of helium forms carbon. Carbon is the significant element of life and is formed in the center of stars due to nuclear fusion as a result of gravitational force.

Select True or False: Pi bonds are covalent bonds in which the electron density is concentrated above and below a plane containi
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

In pi bonds, the electron density concentrates itself between the atoms of the compound but are present on either side of the line joining the atoms. Electron density is found above and below the plane of the line joining the internuclear axis of the two atoms involved in the bond.

Pi bonds usually occur by sideways overlap of atomic orbitals and this leads to both double and triple bonds.

Which of the following compounds is the most soluble in water?
Elanso [62]

OHCH2CH2CH2CH2CH2OH is the most soluble in water.

Explanation:

This molecule has –OH groups at both ends. The –OH will be able to interact positively without water molecules by forming hydrogen bonds with the H ends of water molecules. This is because the –OH ‘s are polar making the molecule also generally polar - which would otherwise be nonpolar without them. Water being a polar solvent it dissolves polar substances.

If a bag of peas weighs 454 grams, how many peas would be in the bag?
OverLord2011 [107]

In a bag of peas that weighs 454 grams, there are between 1261 and 4540 peas.

The average pea weighs between 0.1 and 0.36 grams.

If we take the lower value (0.1 g/pea), the number of peas in 454 g is:

454 g \times \frac{1pea}{0.1 g} = 4540pea

If we take the higher value (0.36 g/pea), the number of peas in 454 g is:

454 g \times \frac{1pea}{0.36 g} \approx 1261pea

In a bag of peas that weighs 454 grams, there are between 1261 and 4540 peas.

Sugars are polar substances. Which action would make sugar more soluble in water?
Helen [10]

Answer the correct answer for the question is option a Increase in temperature of water.

Explanation- When the temperature of water is increased the energy of water is increased at molecular level, this increased energy causes vibration between the hot water molecules bit faster than in normal water which also allows the sugar molecules to vibrate and associate with water at molecular level as it gets more space between the molecules.

Hence this action would make sugar more soluble in water.
