The correct answer is C. Groups 2, 3, 4.

The main groups of elements which are in the periodic table include, group1, group2, and group 13 up to group 18.

These groups are the representative elements. Group 1 contains all the alkali metals which include sodium, lithium, potassium, and francium.
They react with halogens to form an ionic salt. For example, sodium chloride.
Group 2 contains Alkaline earth metals which include barium, strontium, radium, calcium, and magnesium. They are less active than alkali metals. They are named after their oxides.
Group 13 is the Boron group. It includes indium, thallium, gallium, and aluminium. Aluminum it is known to be the third most abundant element on earth crust.

The question contain these choices:
A) groups 1, 16 and 18
B) groups 5, 7 and 9
C) groups 2, 3 and 4
D) groups 15, 16 and 17
The correct answer is C) groups 2, 3 and 4
In the periodic table groups of transition elements are from group 3 to group 12
so here we have in C) group 3 which contain lanthanides and actinides so this choice contain the most elements classified as transition elements

Answer:

C. the relative molecular mass of the compound

Explanation:

Like molecular formulas, empirical formulas are not unique and can describe a number of different chemical structures or isomers. To determine an empirical formula, the relative molecular mass of the composition of its elements can be used to mathematically determine their ratio.

If an instrument has 10 ml td +/- 0.01 ml written on it, the user should ..... question 5 options: record 10 ml in the notebook
galina1969 [7]

Answer : The correct option is "record 10.00 ml in the notebook after using it."

Explanation :

If an instrument has "10 mL TD" written on it, that means the instrument is meant To Deliver (TD) 10 mL of volume.

Therefore the option that has 5.00 mL is not correct.

"+/- 0.01 mL" indicates the precision of the instrument. We know that no measurement is 100% accurate and there is always some uncertainty associated with any measurement.

Here, 0.01 indicates the uncertainty in the measurement.

When we have 0.01 mL , that means the instrument can record precisely to the hundredths place.

The more the significant figures, the greater is the accuracy of the measurement.

Therefore when we use an instrument that has "+/- 0.01 mL" written on it, we should record the reading as 10.00 mL
