<span>The rain shadow effect would be most evident in the “Eastern” direction in relative to the Rocky Mountains.

A “Rain-Shadow” is a dry area that is formed on the side of the mountains which are away from the wind. The rain-producing weather systems are blocked by the mountains and a shadow of dryness is cast on that area, without much moisture left in the air.

The Continental Divide in America acts as a great barrier for precipitation.

The Rocky Mountains are a major mountain range that is present in the western North America and stretch for more than 3,000 miles across the northern part of British Columbia, western side of Canada, till New Mexico, in the South-Western part of the US.

The low pressure systems are known to approach from the south to skirt the Rocky Mountains. They generate high precipitation on the eastern side. However, there is little or no precipitation on the western slope.

Sound waves travel at the rate of 343 m/s at 20°C. If a man standing 450 meters away from the wall of a canyon yells, “Hello,” h
nekit [7.7K]

Answer:

2.62seconds

Explanation:

Speed is defined as the ratio of the distance covered by a body with respect to time.

Speed v = Distance (s)/Time (t)

For a traveling sound wave, the distance between the source of a sound and the reflector is '2S'.

Speed v = 2 × distance (S)/Time (T)

V = 2S/t

2S = vt

Given speed of the wave = 342m/s

Distance covered = 450m

t = 2S/v

t = (2×450)/343

t = 900/343

t = 2.62seconds

It will take him 2.62seconds for him to hear his own voice echo off of the wall.

A 23.0 kg iron weightlifting plate has a volume of 2920 cm3 . what is the density of the iron plate in g/cm3?
yanalaym [24]
The first thing you should know for this case is that density is defined as the quotient between mass and volume:
 D = M / V
 In addition, you should keep in mind the following conversion:
 1Kg = 1000g
 Substituting the values we have:
 D = (23.0 * 1000) / (2920) = 7.88 g / cm ^ 3
 answer
 the density of the iron plate is 7.88 g / cm ^ 3

Given:

Mass of body = 30 kg

gravitational acceleration on the moon = 1.62 m/s

If the man on the left pulls on the object with a force of 500 N and the man on the right pulls on the object with a force of 75
Igoryamba
Force is a vector quantity
so pulling from opposite side will be negative
so
750+(-500)= 250N
C is the right answer
becauseause the man on the right applies greater force.

How much equal charge should be placed on the earth and the moon so that the electrical repulsion balances the gravitational for
kumpel [21]

As we know that electrostatic force between two charges is given as

F = \frac{kq_1q_2}{r^2}

here we know that electrostatic repulsion force is balanced by the gravitational force between them

so here force of attraction due to gravitation is given as

F_g = 1.98 \times 10^{20} N

here we can assume that both will have equal charge of magnitude "q"

now we have

1.98 \times 10^{20} = \frac{kq^2}{r^2}

1.98 \times 10^{20} = \frac{(9\times 10^9)(q^2)}{(3.84 \times 10^8)^2}

1.98 \times 10^{20} = (6.10 \times 10^{-8}) q^2

now we have

q = 5.7 \times 10^{13} C
