Macronutrients are nutrients that contain inorganic components. a. True b. False

This is false, as macronutrients are all made of organic components. Macronutrients are carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. The most basic unit for carbohydrates is glucose. Glucose is an organic molecule with a chemical formula of C6H12O6 which then is broken down by the body to convert it to energy (in the form of ATP). Fats or triglycerides are comprised of fatty acids and a glycerol backbone which can also be used by the body for energy or can be stored for later use. Proteins on the other hand are functional molecules wherein the basic unit for proteins is the amino acid. Proteins are exemplified because they contain nitrogen (CHON). All of which can be used as energy and has specific caloric value per gram (4 kcal for every gram of protein and carbohydrates and 9 kcal for every gram of fat).

Micronutrients are usually inorganic compounds with no caloric value. Usually these micronutrients are essential for maintaining biochemical pathways in the body. For instance, niacin and riboflavin are vitamins that are needed in the production of NAD and FAD which are important for reduction-oxidation reactions in the body (i.e. tricarboxylic acid cycle and electron transport chain).

Aneli [31]
The correction option is B. The plants that belong to phyllum anthophyta are heterosporous, that is, they produce both male and female reproductive organs separately. Fruits grow when the male gamete fertilizes the female ovary. Their fruits are always fleshy with seeds inside them. A good example of a plant that belong to this phylum is pawpaw.

If there are 32 sister chromatids in a normal somatic cell, what is the haploid number for that cell?
malfutka [58]

Answer:

The answer is 16.

Explanation:

Somatic cells include all the cells in the body except for the reproductive cells. Haploid cells are used to represent the reproductive cells which have half the chromosome as the somatic cells. So if there are 32 sister chromatids in a somatic cell, which means there are 16 chromosomes, then the haploid number for it is 16 chromatids. I hope this answer helps.

Soil classification is partially determined by the presence of organic material, such as humus. Which would have more humus—a
Lapatulllka [165]

Answer: Correct options are A, C and D

A. a forest because it has more trees to provide plant litter

C. a forest because it has more animals to mix the soil

D. a forest because the trees prevent rain from reaching the soil

Explanation:

Humus simply refers to organic matter, and the quantity of organic matter in a habitat depends on the extent of life activities done there.

Deserts, unlike forests have minimal life activities (as few plants and animals thrive in it). Thus, forests have more humus than deserts.
