When sodium carbonate decomposes, it also leaves behind carbon dioxide, or CO2. You can find this out without knowing about carbonate reactions though. Chemical equations must be balanced, so whatever is on the left must also be on the right. There are 2 atoms of sodium, one atom of carbon, and three atoms of oxygon on the left. On the right, there is two atoms of sodium and one atom of oxygen. We are still missing one atom of carbon and one two atoms of oxygen, which, when combined, make a molecule of carbon dioxide.

Based on nuclear stability, what is the symbol for the most likely product nuclide when iodine-123 undergoes decay?

Answer is: Te (tellurium).
During electron capture, iodine-123 f<span>orm the nearly-stable nuclide tellurium-123.

What can you conclude about these two reactions based on the chemical equations? Reaction A: 6CO2(g) + 6H2O(l) + sunlight ? C6H1
OlgaM077 [116]

Given reactions:

(A)   6CO2(g) + 6H2O(l) + sunlight → C6H12O6(aq) + 6O2(g)

(B)  2H2(g) + O2(g) → 2H2O(g) + energy

Exothermic reactions are those which proceed with the release of heat/energy. In contrast, endothermic reactions proceed with the absorption of energy in the form of heat or light.

Since reaction A required sunlight, it is endothermic. Reaction B releases energy, hence exothermic

Ans: (B)

A is endothermic

B is exothermic
