To solve this question make an equation

450 x 0.15 = X

0.15 = the percentage taken out of the paycheck

67.5 = Social Security Taxes

450 - 67.5

= $382.5

Or the easier way if you want it straight away

450 x 0.85 = $382.5

0.85 = percentage taken home

Calculate the area of the polygons in the picture. All measurements are in cm.
Arte-miy333 [17]

Why is there a b) in the middle of the polygon?  Question creators, proofread your figures.

a) Two triangles and a kite

Top triangle (1/2)(5.53)(1.5)

Bottom triangle (1/2)(6)(2)

The kite is like two triangles with shared base 2+3=5 and combined height 7,

(1/2)(5)(7)

Adding it up,

area = (1/2)(5.53)(1.5) +  (1/2)(6)(2) + (1/2)(5)(7) = 27.6475

Answer: 27.6475  sq cm

b) Three triangles, including one right triangle

Area = (1/2) (6.7)(3) + (1/2)(6.2)(2.5) + 1/2(6.2)(2) = 24.

Answer: 24 sq cm

Plz help ASAP 15 points!!!
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

-7+5[(-5)^2+(-32)]=-42

Step-by-step explanation:

First solve the sums that are within the parentheses.

Remember that if the numbers have equal signs then they are added and the same sign is placed.

If the numbers have different signs they are subtracted and the sign of the major is placed

So:

-3-2=-5

2^3 -40 = 8-40=-32

Then we have the following expression:

-7+5[(-5)^2+(-32)]

Remember that by multiplying signs you get:

(+) * (+) = +

(-) * (-) = +

(+) * (-) = -

(-) * (+) = -

Then:

-7+5[(-5)^2+(-32)]=-7+5[(-5)*(-5) -32]

-7+5[(-5)^2+(-32)]=-7+5[25 -32]

-7+5[(-5)^2+(-32)]=-7+5[-7]

-7+5[(-5)^2+(-32)]=-7-35

-7+5[(-5)^2+(-32)]=-42
