Explain the relationship between acid strength and chemical weathering

Chemistry
1 answer:

Explanation:

The stronger the acid the higher the rate of chemical weathering.

An example is the erosion of limestone rock by acid rain. The lower the pH of the acid rain, the higher the rate in which limestone rocks are eroded, chemically;

H₂CO3 + CaCO3 (s) ⇒ CaHCO3 (aq)

Strong acids have a high H+ concentration hence are strong reducing agents.

olga_2 [115]

Answer:

Solvent

Explanation:

Many people use the solute to describe the solid being dissolved and the solvent to describe the thing doing the dissolving, but really solvent means the part of the solution with a greater amount/concentration.

For example, if you have 1 gram of salt in 10 liters of water, the water is the solvent.

1.Chlorobenzene, C6H5Cl, is used in the production of chemicals such as aspirin and dyes. One way that chlorobenzene is prepared
miv72 [106K]

Answer:

m_{C_6H_5Cl}=65.7gC_6H_5Cl

Explanation:

Hello!

In this case, according to the given balanced chemical reaction:

C_6H_6 (l) + Cl_2 (g) \rightarrow C_6H_5Cl (s) + HCl (g)

We can see there is 1:1 between benzene and chlorobenzene as the relavant product; thus, since the molar mass of benzene is 78.11 g/mol and that of chlorobenzene is 112.55 g/mol, the theoretical yield for this reaction turns out:

m_{C_6H_5Cl}=45.6gC_6H_6*\frac{1molC_6H_6}{78.11gC_6H_6 }*\frac{1molC_6H_5Cl}{1molC_6H_6}*\frac{112.55gC_6H_5Cl}{1molC_6H_5Cl} \\\\m_{C_6H_5Cl}=65.7gC_6H_5Cl

Best regards!

Answer:

--- The hot air inside the bottle creates an expansion and when the hot water is applied a contraction occurs, thus causing the balloon to be sucked.

--- An internal pressure is produced, joining the heat begins to decrease. As a consequence, the air molecule causes the balloon to enter the bottle thanks to the effect of the external pressure.
