Hello!

A 10-kg cart moving at 5 m/s collides with a 5-kg cart at rest and causes it to move 10 m/s. Which principle explains the result? A) law of differential mass B) law of conservation of momentum C) law of unequal forces D) law of accelerated collision

We have the following data¹:

ΔP (momentum before impact) = ?

mA (mass) = 10 kg

vA (velocity) = 5 m/s

mB (mass) = 5 kg

vB (velocity) = 0 m/s

Solving:

ΔP = mA*vA + mB*vB

ΔP = 10 kg*5 m/s + 5 kg*0 m/s

ΔP = 50 kg*m/s + 0 kg*m/s

Δp = 50 kg*m/s ← (momentum before impact)

We have the following data²:

ΔP (momentum after impact) = ?

mA (mass) = 10 kg

vA (velocity) = 0 m/s

mB (mass) = 5 kg

vB (velocity) = 10 m/s

Solving:

Δp = mA*vA + mB*vB

Δp = 10 kg*0 m/s + 5 kg*10 m/s

Δp = 0 kg*m/s + 50 kg*m/s

Δp = 50 kg*m/s ← (momentum after impact)

*** Then, which principle explains the result ?

Law of conservation of momentum, since the total momentum of body A and B before impact is equal to the total momentum of body A and B after impact.

Note: Bodies of different masses and velocities may have the same kinetic energy, if proportionality between the units is maintained it can occur that they have the same kinetic energy.

Answer:

B) law of conservation of momentum

The volume of gas in a flexible container at a depth of 10 m/33 ft will expand to ______ its original volume if taken to the sur
natulia [17]

The volume of gas in a flexible container at a depth of 10 m/33 ft will expand to double its original volume if taken to the surface.

 • What is volume:

The amount of space that a substance or object occupies.

Volume is denoted with letter V

 • What is a gas molecule?

Generally, a gas molecule is simply defined as a combination of numbers of atoms that are connected one to another.

here, 10 m/33 feet of sea water is taken to exerts a gauge pressure that is the same pressure as the atmosphere.

This means that we add one atmosphere/bar pressure for every 10 m/33 feet you descend.

The effect of this is that,

at 10 m/33 ft absolute pressure is two ata/bar

Adding another 10 m/33 ft to this depth to make it 20 m/66 ft, puts you under under three ata/bar of pressure and so on.

Descending to a depth it means that you have double the ata/bar pressure acting on you. If you decide to resurface, the pressure on the flexible container will reduce by a factor of two.

Since volume is inversely proportional to the pressure,

If the pressure reduces by a factor of 2, then the volume will increase by a factor of two.

The analysts at Techno InfoSystems are considering the four-model approach to system development for a new client.
garri49 [273]

It will provide a clear picture of current system functions before any modifications or improvements are made is a benefit if they use the four-model approach.

Option: D

Explanation:

The four model approach is followed by number of analyst which showcase that they construct the physical and logical model of both current and new system. The most important advantage of such approach is it portrays transparent image of ongoing system, before one apply any modification or variation. This is necessary because the flaws which generated earlier in system may affect the SDLC phases and outcome of such process may result into unsatisfied user by paying additional cost. This can be avoided by taking additional steps which make it worth it. The major disadvantage of such approach is the added time and cost of constructing model in both current system.

Which one of the following salts, when dissolved in water, produces the solution with a ph closest to 7.00? 110) a) kh co3 b) cs
s344n2d4d5 [400]

CsCl, when dissolved in water, produces the solution with a ph closest to 7.00.

What is pH?

In chemistry, pH, historically denoting "potential of hydrogen" (or "power of hydrogen"), is a scale used to specify the acidity or basicity of an aqueous solution.

Acidic solutions (solutions with higher concentrations of H+ ions) are measured to have lower pH values than basic or alkaline solutions.

The pH scale is logarithmic and inversely indicates the concentration of hydrogen ions in the solution.

Solutions with a pH less than 7 are acidic, and solutions with a pH greater than 7 are basic.

Solutions with a pH of 7 at this temperature are neutral (e.g. pure water).

The neutral value of the pH depends on the temperature – being lower than 7 if the temperature increases above 25 °C.

The pH value can be less than 0 for very concentrated strong acids, or greater than 14 for very concentrated strong bases.
