Answer:

The magnitude of the torque on the wire loop is 3.68 Nm.

Explanation:

Given that,

Magnetic field = 3.5 T

Suppose, A circular wire loop with a radius of 62.7 cm lies flat in the horizontal x-y plane and contains a current of 852 mA that runs counter-clockwise in the wire loop when viewed from above.

We need to calculate the area

Using formula of area

A=\pi r^2

Put the value into the formula

A=\pi\times(62.7\times10^{-2})^2

A=1.235\ m^2

We need to calculate the magnitude of the torque on the wire loop

Using formula of magnetic field

\tau=NIAB\sin90

Put the value into the formula

\tau=1\times852\times10^{-3}\times1.235\times3.5\times1

\tau=3.68\ Nm

Hence, The magnitude of the torque on the wire loop is 3.68 Nm.

"9 times smaller" is really pretty meaningless.
