Stages of GAS

1: Alarm

Upon perceiving a stressor, the body reacts with a “fight-or-flight” response and the sympathetic nervous system is stimulated as the body’s resources are mobilized to meet the threat or danger.

2: Resistance

The body resists and compensates as the parasympathetic nervous system attempts to return many physiological functions to normal levels while body focuses resources against the stressor and remains on alert.

3: Exhaustion

If the stressor or stressors continue beyond the body’s capacity, the resources become exhausted and the body is susceptible to disease and death.

these are the 3 stages 1. Alarm 2. Resistance 3. Exhaustion

How does eating or hunger help us maintain homeostasis?
Nitella [24]
To summarize, food intake is influenced by metabolic activity in hypothalamic neurons and elsewhere; by hormones that signal the body's fat content to the brain; and by other homeostatic-need situations such as low blood glucose. All of these represent instances of negative feedback.

why do healthcare professionals use body plans and anatomical directions terms when communicating information about patients?
Slav-nsk [51]

Answer:

Because it gives precise and specific information among other health professionals.

Explanation:

It is common for a patient to need different professionals working together to solve a health problem. When this happens, the professionals need to talk to each other about the problems that the patient presents, as well as improvements and worsening health. To allow this communication to be precise and specific, without creating confusion or misleading, it is necessary for professionals to use body plans and anatomical directions terms.
