Imagine there are 8 spots on the shelf. Replace the volumes one by one. The first volume to be replaced could go in any one of the eight spots. The second volume to be replaced could then go in any one of the seven remaining spots. The third volume to be replaced could then go in any one of the six remaining spots. etc So the total number of ways the eight volumes could be replaced = 8! = 8 × 7 × 6 × 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 40,320

The table shows how the number of cars, c, depends on the number people, t. How would you write this as an equation?
Nataly [62]

Answer:

t = 3c - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

The relation between c and t is linear as the increase of the value of t is uniform for each unit increase in the value of c.

Now, any two points on the graph of the t = f(c) equation are sufficient to determine the equation.

Let the points are (2,1) and (3,4).

So, using two points formula of straight line we get the equation is

\frac{t - 4}{4 - 1} = \frac{c - 3}{3 - 2}

⇒ t - 4 = 3(c - 3)

⇒ t - 4 = 3c - 9

⇒ t = 3c - 5 (Answer)

In 1950, Town A had a population of 200 people and the population increased by 200 people each year. In 1950, Town B had a popul
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

Town B will eventually overtake Town A

in 1990 Town B will have a larger population

Step-by-step explanation:

To work out how big town A will be in 1990 you need to do 200 + (200x40) because you add 40 years worth of increased population onto the starting population

To work out how big town B will be in 1990 you need to use the equation 200 X 1.1^40 because to work out plus 10 percent you need to do 1.1 and do it to the power of 40 for how many years

in 1990 town a will have a population of 8200 and town B will have a population of 9051.85
