In a thermochemical equation, the enthalpy change is always written next to the balanced chemical equation.

For example, chemical reaction: 2Mg + O₂ → 2MgO. ΔH = -1204 kJ; this is exothermic reaction,
or chemical reaction: Fe₂O₃(s) + 3CO(g) → 2Fe(s) + 3CO₂(g);ΔH = + 26.3 kJ, ths is endothermic reaction.
There are two types of reaction: endothermic reaction (chemical reaction that absorbs more energy than it releases) and exothermic reaction (chemical reaction that releases more energy than it absorbs).

CHEMISTRY HELP PLEASE!!!
Viefleur [7K]

Answer : when a beaker of acid is titrated with a basic solution, the acid becomes neutralized.

Explanation :

The reaction in which an acid reacts with a base forming a salt and water is known as neutralization reaction.

During neutralization reaction, acid and base neutralize each other.

That means they both lose their properties and completely new substances are formed which have different properties

For example, a reaction of acid HCl with base NaOH produces water and salt, NaCl.

HCl + NaOH \rightarrow NaCl + H2O

Therefore we can say that, when a beaker of acid is titrated with a basic solution, the acid is neutralized.

Explain, in terms of particles, what happens when methane boils and why
Ronch [10]

Answer:Butane > ethane > methane, because between bigger molecules there are stronger van der Waals forces and also higher molar mass means they need to be given more energy to have enough kinetic energy to move quickly, freely in gas.

There are multiple butene isomers (Butene) and some (2-Butenes - cis and trans) actually have higher boiling point than n-Butane (there is also Isobutane, of course, with quite much lower boiling point than all of them) and some (1-Butene, Isobutylene) have lower, so this isn't really a fair or simple question. But on simplest level, it can again be said that 1-butene has lower boiling point because it has very similar shape but slightly lower molar mass (2H less) than n-butane.

1. Which liquid sample is a pure substance?
IRISSAK [1]

The whole Activity , poem and paragraph is missing in the question.

Answer:

(1) Liquid A

(2) Solid A

Explanation:

Using this part of the given poem

Substances and mixtures behave differently,

During boiling and melting most especially

Boiling point of substance is fixed while mixture is not

Substance melts completely but mixture does not

The boiling point of the Pure substance remain fixed after reaching its boiling point this is shown by Liquid A

Solid A is melting completely so Solid A is a pure substance.
