Correct answer: <span>A. Kelvin

In fact, in Celsius scale, water boils at </span>100^{\circ}C.

In Fahrenheit scale, this value corresponds to
T(^{\circ} F)= \frac{9}{5} (100^{\circ} C)+32 =212 ^{\circ} F

while in Kelvin scale it corresponds to
T(K)=100^{\circ} +273.15 = 373.15 K

Derive an expression for the energy needed to launch an object from the surface of Earth to a height h above the surface.Ignorin
Sergio [31]

Answer:

Explanation:

Potential energy on the surface of the earth

= - GMm/ R

Potential at height h

=  - GMm/ (R+h)

Potential difference

= GMm/ R -  GMm/ (R+h)

= GMm ( 1/R - 1/ R+h )

= GMmh / R (R +h)

This will be the energy needed  to launch an object from the surface of Earth to a height h above the surface.

Extra  energy is needed to get the same object into orbit at height h

= Kinetic energy of the orbiting object at height h

= 1/2 x potential energy at height h

= 1/2 x GMm / ( R + h)

Which option correctly shows the concentration of H₂O* ions in pure water? (1 point)
Lostsunrise [7]

H2O is present at a calculated value of 1.0 x 107 moles per liter.

The balance of neutral water molecules and the ions they generate controls the chemistry of aqueous solutions.

H3O+(aq) + 2 H2O(l) + OH- (aq)

1.0 x 10-7 M [H3O+] = [OH-]

As a result, adding an acid to water affects the concentration of both H3O+ and OH- ions. Acids raise the concentration of the H3O+ ion in water since they are a source of this ion. However, the amount to which water dissociates is reduced when an acid is added. As a result, the concentration of the OH- ion significantly drops. The concentration of OH- ions rises as a result of adding a base. The H3O+ and OH- ion concentrations are combined to equal Kw once the system reaches equilibrium. Naturally, the only method to do this is to reduce the concentration of the H3O+ ion.
